I played this old pc game when i was growing up mid 90’s the plot i think was about a time machine and dinosaurs, i distinctly remember a level where there was a lock you had to guess the code to but there was a timer and if you couldnt get it fast enough velociraptors ate you or something like that. i just remember a feeling of loneliness in this vast looking point and click game, and its been driving me crazy for 3 years trying to figure it out.

I’m not sure if it quite fits, but could you perhaps be talking about The Journeyman Project? There’s a prehistoric part in that game where you can get eaten by dinosaurs if I remember correctly.

... old pc game… mid 90’s… about a time machine and dinosaurs

Maybe this is the game you’re looking for.
I haven’t played Chronomaster, so I can’t be sure.

There’s also Lost Eden that’s very dinosaur-centric. No time-travel, though…

Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka
