He only comes here to tell the thread that it should die. It’s no use asking him things
If he’s still in med school or interning, that’s probably all he has time for.

I’m a qualified doctor now, and training to be a GP/Family Doctor/[Insert your national equivalent]. Though I’m still doing hospital rotations at the moment.
I don’t do a very good job of popping in . Nice to see some familiar faces, and I trust you’re all doing okay…
“I do not change to be perfect. Perfect changes to be me.”
I’m fine, thanks!
In Dutch what you’re studying for is called a house doctor (huisarts).

Am I misremembering, or does anyone know what movie I’m talking about?
I’m thinking of a particular scene from a Japanese horror movie, some 15-ish years ago. As I recall, it was from Dark Water, but I’ve browsed the entire movie on YouTube and couldn’t find the scene in question.
Scene takes place in an elevator. Protagonist is taking the lift up. As soon as we pass the second floor, we can see your typical Japanese ghost girl (dirty white clothes, long black hair in front of her face) through the elevator window, standing against the wall.
She’s there again when we pass the third floor.
She’s there again when we pass the fourth floor, but this time, she’s close to the window, looking in.
She’s there again on the fifth floor, close and looking in.
Just as we’re going to pass the sixth floor, the lights flicker. When they go on again, SHE’S INSIDE THE ELEVATOR!
Genius use of horror, imo. But not finding the scene in question when looking for it (although Ju-On / The Grudge and its remake have something similar minus the last part), makes me question my memory.
So, am I remembering an actual scene (and could you please tell me what the movie is)? Or am I mixing up several scenes and adding how I wish it would continue, into a false memory of something I supposedly saw?
The truth can’t hurt you, it’s just like the dark: it scares you witless but in time you see things clear and stark. - Elvis Costello
Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka
Not sure. The Eye and it’s remake (I think) also have soe kind of elevator scene.
Dark Water remake also has a small elevator scene.
These films do all start to mix up, they even have those vs movies now
The Ring vs The Grudge

Yeah, I’ve seen these clips when I was looking for the one I “remember”. And I’m sure it wasn’t The Eye since I remember that elevator sequence too well.
I hated the Dark Water remake, btw. They turned a good horror film into a weak drama.
But elevators are obviously good nightmare fuel, so they show up in horror films quite often.

I know. That’s why there’s a good chance that I’m mixing up that Grudge scene with the Ring and/or Dark Water villains and a “wishful thinking” added extra. The mind can play tricks on you, especially when over a decade has past…

Movies and Music golden age is over
Its gaming Goldenage now, soon it will be downhill too
That elevator scene is most old gimmick abused by later Japanese horrors first started from short Tales from japan stories, and they were all legit horrors
Here , the closing gimmick
Here one of my fav episode, sick and disturbing in Japanese way

Yep it’s golden age, for sure. That’s why every new popular game is so unique.

Ark and Rocketleague beating the game pic you posted so NO
This gen had popular titles like Doom,Overwatch,Inside and Firewatch
Thats just not all
2017 has Horizon to NioH,Persona5 to Prey to Nier to Rdr2
FF7R,RE2make,Nomoreheroes3,Shenmue3,BGE2,Cyberpunk in future
Thats helluva variety
I cannot expect or ask more
Even AG genre is better than before in terms of variety and growth of mechanics
Until dawn to Rapture to HetStory, not stuck in traditional scene
Also Indie influx, Stardewvalley to Rocketleague selling more than AAA
So yeah , its not just my opinion Charles Cecil said same
Golden age because anyone can do anything and now we have something for everyone
Anybody can make games now and get a runaway hit
Lots of crazy concepts, even Overwatch is quite refreshing in art and gameplay as multiplayer game

If Firewatch,Inside,NioH,Nier,Rocketleague,Overwatch and ARK are not unique then there never was unique gaming
Wonder whats unique for you
Edit
Just hit me, its you who posted one franchise and its sequels
Edit2
Also forgot Torment and Psychonauts2
Sequels of unique IPs that not many people never played and that were never copied like original, so yeah its a big plus for those who are missing those gaming experiences which happened at one time(Nier,Torment, shenmue) and now gone
