Hello! If you’re not aware, AdventureX is the UK’s only convention dedicated to narrative-driven gaming. Now in its 6th year, AdventureX is a free event bringing together developers & gamers with a passion for interactive storytelling. AdventureX will be returning to London on the 19th & 20th of November in 2016.

We recently launched a Kickstarter Campaign to help AdventureX keep growing. We’ve had a great first day (70% after 24 hours! Woo!) so we’re keen to keep spreading the word to developers and fans of interactive narrative.

Back AdventureX 2016 on Kickstarter!

It’s free to attend AdventureX, but if you’re developing a narrative-driven game please apply to join us as an exhibitor / speaker / panellist:

Apply Now

We’l be announcing guest speakers as soon as they are confirmed. Previous guest speakers include:

- Charles Cecil (Broken Sword, Beneath a Steel Sky)
- Dave Gilbert (The Blackwell Series)
- Jon Ingold (80 Days, Sorcery!)
- Steve Ince (The Witcher, So Blonde)
- Mark Estdale (Telltale’s Game of Thrones, Deponia)
- Dr. Ernest Adams (S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl)

Sorry to bump, but just in case anyone is considering going to AdventureX, exhibiting their own game or backing the Kickstarter…

Here are some of the special guests we will be welcoming as speakers, panellists and exhibitors so far:

- Charles Cecil (Managing Director: Revolution Software)
- Alexis Kennedy (Designer & Writer: Sunless Sea, Fallen London - weatherfactory.biz)
- Jan “Poki” Müller-Michaelis (Creative Director: Daedalic Entertainment)
- Rhianna Pratchett (Writer: Rise of the Tomb Raider, Overlord - rhiannapratchett.com)
- Ellie Gibson (Gaming Expert: Dara O Briain’s Go 8 Bit & Podcaster: Scummy Mummies)
- Richard Cobbett (Journalist & Writer: The Long Journey Home - richardcobbett.com)
- Emily Short (Writer: Galatea, Blood & Laurels - emshort.wordpress.com)
- John Walker (Senior Editor: Rock, Paper, Shotgun & Podcaster: Rum Doings)
- Dave Gilbert (Designer & Publisher: Wadjet Eye Games)

And John Robertson will be performing the critically-acclaimed live-action videogame The Dark Room. “This is the future of gaming” - Ron Gilbert. The Dark Room Trailer

We’re still accepting applications for talks and exhibitors, so please share the campaign. We’re particularly interested in walking simulators / visual novels and other narrative games that don’t fit into the conventional point-and-click mould.

We’ve rocketed past our Kickstarter target, and are now aiming to beat our final stretch goal. If you can help us promote narrative gaming, please sling us a few gold pieces.

Yes, we’ve archived many of the talks and features on the blog:

The picture quality is not always great, particularly on the videos from earlier years. But they’re still a good resource. One of our goals is to do a better job of documenting the event this year.
