He needs to start playing ‘the beautiful game’. Create, perform through-balls, beat defenders, stop kicking players and deliberately blocking the ball with his hand. I mean…he is the world’s best after all.

He’s a finisher now, has been for some time, he creates space for the other players and also some assists. Don’t know why that would change now, never been a playmaker and doesn’t have the same speed for dribbling. The kicking other players is shameful, no doubt about that. I have not seen the game, had portuguese teams to watch

Because otherwise it doesn’t make sense to have him play because he is so limited. His goals mask how poor he is nowadays, because no one mentions how many shots on targets he attempts to make one goal, takes every freekick and penalty. Ofcourse one will score goals then.
Might as well sub him for Morata. Has pace at least and capability of passing 1, 2 defenders.
But yeah, it’s kind of like the Rooney situation where because of money and status he won’t lose his position so easily.

That doesn’t make sense. You don’t bench the teams top scorer. Rooney is not scoring more than 50 goals a season! And it’s not because he just shoots a lot, if it was that easy…

The three keys with his goal stats are the sheer amount of minutes he plays , all the Penaldos he gets and the fact he gets about 10 chances every game.
