Any recent first person adventures with inventory like Scratches?

I am enjoying Scratches right now.  Most first person games are games like Myst.  Not many with inventory, outside of Zork Grand Inquisitor that I can think of.  Have any games been made in this style lately that are recommended?

Yes.  I did play that many years ago.  Any made recently?  It is a shame the Scratches’ developer went under.

I did not play the second, however.

Define “recent”. Pandora Directive is 1st person, except for the FMV scenes, and is loaded with inventory. I may be thinking of another game, but I think Barrow Hill is 1st person with inventory. There are LOTS more, but the term “recent” is somewhat limiting.

That limits things a bit. As for Agustin Cordes and his crew going under, I don’t think that’s the case.

I just looked up the name.  The studio that was used to create Scratches went under, but it looks like a new one was started for Asylum.

Be sure to have a look at our excellent Scratches AGCP we had a year ago with tons of info and trivia from Agustin Cordes himself.

Conspiracies 2: Lethal Networks
Tex Murphy: Tesla Effect
1953: KGB Unleashed

For girlies: Carol Reed
For girly girlies: Nancy Drew

I support the recommendations for older games, like Rhiannon (2008) and Barrow Hill (2006).

Tesla Effect was great, Amnesia was fun, The Testament of Sherlock Holmes was ok. But recent years was not the best time for first person adventure games. You’ll have better luck with the 1995-2005 period (Tex Murphy, Black Dahlia, Amber, Dark Fall, Voyage, Death Gate, Callahan’s, Faust and so on).

Something to look forward to for fans of Scratches Smile

(and yes, Asylum is essentially its spiritual successor)
