Suda51’s The Silver Case
Years of wait and bugging suda now a reality.
I criticized the review of FSR here on AG site since it lacked some resesrch on Suda51 killthepast multiverse.
It started from Twilight/Moonlight syndrome , then Silvercase then FSR then Killer7.
They are all connected still apart.
But Suda and FSR fans can now enjoy this classic.
Music was superb, composed by my fav contemporary composer Masafumi Takada.
Get charged by watching this vid,
Only for pc now, need ps4 ver.

Oh yes!! Hope it doesn’t take too long
Anyone here who have played the original?

I did in japanese and was helping translation project, glad it got picked by experts.
Its text heavy with fp exploration and decent puzzles, with amazing art and music.
Its true mystery, AG , Visual novel hybrid with great suda style trippy story with real world elements.
4 games i mentioned in my op, are part of multiverse.
Fsr, k7 this and MS have interconnected characters.
Killer7 is least connected and not AG.
Coming in fall for PC.
Mods update the news on main page.
More people got to know this , sequel and FSR remake depends upon its success.
Fantastic! Playing the Nintendo DS version of Flower, Sun & Rain is one of my most memorable gaming moments.

Mine too! It broke my brain a bit at the end. Nobody does that clever postmodern thing quite like Suda. This is exciting news - looking forward to trying Silvercase!

The Silver Case is a Japanese point-and-click adventure game for the PS1. It is currently being remastered for PC with an English translation.
I haven’t played The Silver Case, but one of my personal favorite games is Suda’s Killer7, which is both surreal and disturbing. It’s mostly about action, but there are some puzzle elements reminiscent of adventure games - for example, you use a ‘fire ring’ to set off a fire extinguisher in a bathroom so a toilet gets filled with water so you can flush it and free an item jammed in a pipe in the room below. So I’d love to see what Suda’s early pure adventure games were like.

Yes killer7 is my fav of all time.
Best story to be conceived in any medium imho.
Loved that masterpiece.
Glad you played it.
Hope someday we get HD port on current gen consoles.

I tried playing it a while ago but got frustrated by all the optional puzzles. I know I don’t have to do them, but I felt compelled to, and I got burnt out. And it was kind of a pain searching the same areas each chapter for the hotspots. I started playing it again just now, maybe I’ll put it down for a while every chapter or two.
I love the style/quirkiness, though. It reminds me Deadly Premonition.

What are these “real world elements”??

What about Travis Touchdown appearing in Killer7? Wouldn’t that tie in No More Heroes as well?

If you like these Dpremonition and suda types, try D2 too , PC dreamcast emulator.
Real world elements like actual cctv videos , live feeds, story is actually japanese detective/police/journalists investigating real life serial killer events , internet craze etc.
It is embedded in reality but surreal suda trip follows later.
Yes , even Emir made a cameo in NMH.
However FSR , Silvercase and Twilightsyndrome has directly related characters in the story, apart from references. So you need to remember names in FSR of some key characters.
Killerisdead hero is called Mondo too
And the moon.
Now the bigger question is if they will keep the original stuff, how much they will cut and edit in new remaster.
First ingame footage of the remaster, presented by suda himself at Bitsummit
Cant believe its still happening…
Looks greaaat, my body is not Reggie
He is supposedly bringing its sequel too, and then if sales are going to be good, FSR remaster.
Demo out,
Can’t really say that I know what the game is about after playing it.
