Samorost 2 has been sitting on my pile of shame for three and a half years. Maybe I should do something about that.

Same here. I’ve owned it for three years now but never played it… until today.

I noticed on HowLongToBeat that Samorost only takes about 16 minutes and Samorost 2 only takes about 1 hour 15 minutes to finish.
Took me 20 minutes and 1 hour 40 minutes.

I’m going to use the word “quaint” to summarize both games. Tongue

The visuals are highly creative and surreal, and it’s all very charming. There are flaws, though, as a lot of the puzzles have a really weird logic (resulting in basically trying everything) and a lot of the hotspots are hard to find / easy to miss (making it pixel hunt-y). Fortunately, the good outweighs the bad, and well, the game’s charm simply trumps all… Cool

I like to describe the games as whimsical.

I check Steam and Amanita Design’s website everyday for this.
Wonder if it will come out this year or if it will be delayed.

My computer runs DOS only.

Was just wondering the same thing and checked the official website - it now says it’s coming out in the first quarter of 2016.

It’s here!  Heart Eyes

Haven’t achieved much yet, but what can I say… of course it’s beautiful, it oozes the wonderful Amanita charm and I love Floex’s music.  Even JW has posted a very positive review.  Tongue

Will be playing this weekend. Looking forward to some fun Amanita silliness after the ruthlessly logical Hadean Lands.

How would you know? You’ve only played Touché, Ankh (9th replay), BS3 (17th replay), A Vampyre Story (23rd replay), and Toonstruck (106th replay).

It’s exactly what everyone has come to expect from Amanita, although the first two Samarosties were much easier than this one. IMO, IMO.  Tongue

I’m taking my time and I was already seriously stuck, so my guess is that I will have fun for 8-10 hours.

This game is gorgeous. It’s amazing to look at, the design is built around pattern recognition puzzles cleverly distributed around the world, what gives a great flow to the game, and it has a lot of surprising moments that keeps the player wanting more.
It deserves a place among the best adv game ever.
