this looks suspect to say the least... why would the make this freeware? It's not that old. And there's nothing about anywhere else on the net. hebrew... phew.

the article is freely translated as follows:

"A Classic adventure created using 3.5 tons of clay. Its unique style made Neverhood one of the most succesful adventures among non-gamers. Despite all this, the asles were too low to justify a sequel. The developing studio was closed in 1999, three years and two PS games after its release. The protagonist, Klayman, a clay man in a clay world, embarks on a journey to unveil the mythic secrets of his world".

eh.. I still don't see where it says that the copyrightholders have given permission for free distribution of the software? and why on earth is it only news in Israel? you've got to come up with some more sources for this to be credible.

plus, you can't link to nocd-cracks, it's against forum rules, read the FAQ before posting.

I agree this looks suspicious. However, it IS one of the two biggest newspapers in Israel, and I think it would be really weird if they would just give a link to an illegal download...

I'll try to look into this matter.

Checked Doug TenNapel's website and didn't see any announcement about this being freeware although I did see This thread which seems to confirm that Doug doesn't mind people downloading.

As to why make it freeware...per the website, they just signed a Neverhood movie deal. It would make sense to either re-release/give away the game in order promote the movie.

No, each country establishes its own laws in regards to copyrights and copyright renewal although there are international treaties that establish minimum timeframes.
