I can see why you'd go for Obsidian, but it's not correct. Haven't the faintest idea what game it is. I would have remembered those distinctive screens, so I'm sure I haven't played it.

Not Obsidian for sure, this game probably can't match Obsidian's surrealness, but it's pretty bizarre nonetheless.

Damn! Drowned God must be right. I had this vague feeling of recognizing the screenshot of the tree (but none of the other screenshots) and then I thought it was because it reminded me of the Obsidian tree...

I couldn't finish Drowned God, too hard for me. The tree is one of the very first puzzles.

Yep, The Gene Machine. So my trick of using a 3D cut scene didn't work.

Apparently not.

I just remembered too well that the many styles didn't fit together well. Seemed more like a way to cut down on the animation budget than a good artistic decision.
