Hey, this is not the OST thread!
but hey, it could be a right answer!

The Sam & Max Wiki says it’s a likeness of Rod Serling.
You shouldn’t believe everything you read on the internet
It doesn’t really look like Serling, though, but imo it doesn’t look like Hitchcock either.
For me the likeness is very obvious, and when playing the game I never doubted for a second that it was meant as a caricature of Hitchcock. Apart from the round though more elongated head shape, then many of the details of his face especially the lines from the nose and the eyes, are an exact replica of Hitchcock’s features.
I will make a compromise though: The Narrator is inspired by and is a homage to both Hitchcock and Serling. (Which also seems to be the most common opinion according to google)

Hehe, out of all these possible answers, it was Iznogood who found the game I had in mind. It is indeed the Inner world.
I seem to be on a roll here
The downside is that it also means I have to keep coming up with new “puzzles”.
The game is inspired by and named after a real world murder case.

Black Dahlia ???

Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka
Black Dahlia ???
That was quick - It is indeed Black Dahlia I was thinking of.

Alright, I’ll stick with the subject:
This game features the Black Dahlia murder as a minor plot element.

Assuming it is not a trick question and the answer is once again Black Dahlia then I’m going to take a stab at L.A. Noire

I said “minor” plot element, so that rules out the Black Dahlia game.
It was indeed L.A. Noire I was thinking of. Your turn again!

Well as I recall it, though it has been many years since I played it, the murder is only really the start of the game, and it soon changes into something more of a Indiana Jones kind of thing. So you could justify calling it only a “minor” plot element, but I didn’t think you were that sneaky
New clues will come as soon as I can think of a good one that I haven’t used before… or perhaps…

And now for something completely different, and hopefully I expect a bit more difficult
In this game you know (almost) right from the start that everything is not quite right. You can’t put your finger on what or why things are wrong, but the whole atmosphere and setting just reeks of “something is wrong”.
