The Steam holiday sale has begun. Too many deals to list here, but includes deals on most of AG’s recommendation list.

I’d like to mention separately that probably the first time ever the Nancy Drew games are -70% on Steam sale (instead of usual 50%). Including the big game pack.

Recently Played: Red Embrace: Hollywood, Dorfromantik, Heirs & Graces, AI: The Somnium Files, PRICE, Frostpunk, The Shapeshifting Detective (CPT), Disco Elysium, Dream Daddy, Four Last Things, Jenny LeClue - Detectivu, The Signifier

That is interesting. There is so much comment about the titles and I never tried any of them. Is there any Nancy Drew title that stands out above the others or any order to play them?

I’ve played like 5 or perhaps a couple more of them and as far as I noticed there really isn’t any reason to play them in a specific order.

To me all the games I played were pretty much equal gaming experiences, so I would just pick up them up according to their theme. Are you more interested in a haunted Japanese Inn, treasure hunting in Venice or something else?

Curse of Blackmoor Manor is listed in the adventures top100 and I think several people really loved the Crystal Skull (setting in New Orleans) though personally I didn’t think it was really better than the other ND games I played.

Overall I was pleasantly surprised by the games and think they are much more close to “real adventures” than one would originally think (yes, I pretty much thought they were casual adventures for preteens). They have some interesting characters and puzzles, and always some kind of nice setting you get to know a bit about. But most people probably grow a bit tired of the games eventually as ND herself is a pretty bland character and the games are very similar to each other.

Thanks millenia and Cheshire Cat, I’m going to try Blackmoor Manor first and if it clicks I’ll give others a go.

The yearly EU PSN January sale has started and for those who have yet to pick up Danganronpa 2 it’s available at a great price: €19.99 + 10% bonus discount if you’re a PS+ member.

Murasaki Baby is also on sale for just €5.99 + 10% bonus discount if you’re a PS+ member.

And then there’s all the other great non-adventure deals in general. Personally I’m ready to perv out in Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed Nerd
