Ankh3: Battle of The Gods - The Luts-a-luk Casino in-game-video
The video is of all the in-game-cutscenes, it’s ‘bout 2-hours long or more, strange!, I don’t remember that this game had any such good length, but… what do I know!. I have fish’ memory, anyways.

.

Its impossible to be precise or fair, while giving them (soundtrack-makers) their credits, in general; its a very a complex process, involving a lot of musicians, composers, sound designers, arrangers, sound engineers, ...and so on/other titles!, not to forget supervisors, at ‘this’ case of Dynamedion; the company consists of 20 musicians, working under Tilman Sillescu & Pierre Langer supervision, but it is always just easier giving credit to those (latter) two, as most venues do (forgetting about the whole team) whenever they are considering/crediting Dynamedion work.

At the end, trying not to take or ‘give’ more credits to the case him-self; Markus Schmidt than it should, I have to bring in two other musicians/composers, always are very involved with the most of his work (especially those mentioned at the thread); Alex Pfeffer & Alexander Röder.

Markus Schmidt, Alex Pfeffer & Alexander Röder Interview!article: The Melodies of Dynamedion

.

So that is it!, I guess! (..or at least, the least) for Markus Schmidt  Smile

Frank Zottoli was behind the legendry Leisure Suit Larry: Love for Sail , but ‘yet’ he wasn’t entirely alone on this, Ben Houge and Mark Seibert had their share with it, making it one of the best AG OSTs ever made, and not just from my perspective; its one of Sierra’ best!.

Leisure Suit Larry: Love for Sail - Jamie Lee Coitus Frank Zottoli. so fkn memorable!!

Leisure Suit Larry: Love for Sail - Victorian Principles Before Larry Frank Zottoli. Humph! Nerd

Leisure Suit Larry: Love for Sail - Victorian Principles After Larry Frank ZottoliLaughing Sarcastic

Leisure Suit Larry: Love for Sail - Here’s Dildo! Mark Seibert. YEAH BABY!

Leisure Suit Larry: Love for Sail - Exploring the Break Room Ben Houge . Reminds me much of one of the tracks by Daedalic‘s Periscope Studio for Edna & Harvey that I just have re-heard few days ago.

P.S: after 2 days its gonna be a year since I started this thread, (No!, i am not stopping) ..
I do miss Caliburn collaboration Heart here, but anyway I am not planning to take on this thread for life, even if I so love to!!, ‘please’ if someone like to share his/her taste of ag’s music here, for just the sake of good hear and cherishing adventure gaming ‘moments’, come on, bring it on! just try to post with a same formula; The game title, the song name, the composer’s and whatever proper could be added to the soundtrack’ or the game’ description for spicing up the post.

Thanks.

The Dagger of Amon Ra - The Archaeologist Song

I want to marry an archaeologist?
And keep his artifacts warm?...“yeah baby”
.

A very boring 1st two acts, but once you passed ‘em, you get hooked to this main course magic, right away!.

I really think of it, as ‘not’ my everyday Sierra AG!..  the same goes for the original Colonel’s Bequest.

Kuru had written a very nice review for Adventuregamers here, ‘must read!’,that before we lose him; Wink ‘just a matter of speech’, tho I wished he had given it a half star more.

Never played Silent Hill: Shattered Memories , but played the original on playstation (my only experience with such a platform), and since its considered a ‘reimage’ of the original, I will act as if I played it.

I consider it an adventure and not a survival horror adventure, as all the adventure elements are well intact from the action-survival aspects (hmm ..how can I say it).. I mean even they are merged within the game, puzzles solving not depending on those action or reflexes mode; gameplaying is divided into two, the main adventurous and the other; killing those (as little as can if you are on the adventuring side) monsters, just because they are in the way of reaching your adventure’ goals; and if to avoid them (hardly/impossible) one can solve all the game’s puzzles without any killings; they are just there to give you hell, and horror.

.

The OST is also ‘reimaged!’, by the same composer of the original ; Akira Yamaoka, it was the first of the series to prominently feature dynamic music (concept used in many video games, whereby specific events cause the background music to change) that was first used at any game with Konami’s Frogger (1981) then/later at Wing Commander, Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge.
Many of LucasArts’ games used the iMUSE dynamic music system, from Monkey Island 2 onwards and including games like Dark Forces, Full Throttle and Grim Fandango. The iMUSE system is notable in that it segues seamlessly between different pieces of music rather than having an abrupt cut.

To differentiate Silent Hill: Shattered Memories‘s OST from other games as much as possible, and to give it a cold and rusty feel; Akira Yamaoka opted for industrial music.
When he presented his musical pieces to the other staff members for the first time, they misinterpreted their sound as a game bug!.. Laughing  Akira Yamaoka had to explain that this noise was intended for the music, and the team only withdrew their initial objection after he elaborated on his reasons for choosing this style.

THANKS CroGamer!! for your contribution , please let this sound good to your ear, try ‘please’ to keep the posting formula as it given/used here/before, just as much as you would :-

1.game’s title - 2.song name/title,
3.composer’s name
4.and ..(optional as all) Grin Whatever proper could be-told-about the soundtrack, or about game itself. just to spice up the post.
Tongue

Its not to make it harder on you or anyone, “or as if I have this thread exclusively to myself!”, but to make it easy whenever overviewing the thread’s posts..
Thanks again Smile

P.S: I am planning to update the old overview with the composer’s name next to each track, and add more of the same game’/title’s track to each .. and if all goes well (with the admins) I would love to have this overview posted at the 1st post/OP.

Actually, I’m not sure if it would be possible with other forum software either. It certainly hasn’t been possible on any of the forums I’ve ever moderated.
Editing the first post, or making a separate thread, or just editing in a link to a specific post with an overview are all viable alternatives, though.

so there is no way to change ‘i.e’ the post’s number, and 1 becomes 2 or 3 and so on?

Certainly not with this software. Every post gets its unique number and timestamp (with no visible way of changing them), and since that’s how the posts get sorted in a thread,  we can’t change the order…

Ghost Pirates of Vooju Island - Flowers and Monkeys is just SO monkey Island in every way, only needs to be squeezed into one of the series, and you got a new track to MI playlist.

Pedro Macedo Camacho was a Bill Tiller discovery to gaming industry and literally the first to introduce the long life talent musician as a composer, but away from Bill Tiller, ‘we are in the face of a phenomena that is to shine more and more within this and the next decades’, at 2005 Pedro never considered himself a composer or ever been called as such, his mentor Eurico Carrapatoso invited him to public conference, Carrapatoso introduced him there, to the crowd and kept going: “I will show you the first piece he wrote when he was only 18 years old, in his first year of composition with me. He wrote a 5 voice renaissance counterpoint which is something that almost no one, even on the highest levels of composition education, like in master degree university, is able to do it without errors and musicality.” (I couldn’t find this musical piece/recording, but I will update the post once I do!) .. When the recording was over, the audience cheered and applauded and he/Carrapatoso continued “Someone that can write like this, is able to write anything he wants, no one can teach this kind of musicality.”

Late in 2006 he heard about a game hiring 2D Artists, “A Vampyre Story”. he phoned them spoke to Amy Tiller who was super nice to him, but at the same time so cruel She said “We already have a composer lined up but you can make a demo. But, I will be honest, it will be an uphill battle for you, we just need to sign contract with him to finish the deal.”

He didn’t mind, worked day and night for the best demo he could think of for a theme of A Vampyre Story and In two days he showed them the music that would become AVS’s Main theme. And as A Vampyre Story was also Bill Tiller‘s life dream so he had to still wait almost 3 months for him to make a final decision on the soundtrack and hire Pedro .

Now he is the one behind the Star Citizen‘s soundtrack, which its kickstarter had Passed $55 Million figure!. The highest record achieved at the kickstarter business, so far.
.
.

P.S: its strange enough to bring in Ghost Pirates of Vooju Island with all the talk here about A Vampyre Story, but that is only because we are about to get more of Pedro Macedo Camacho the next few days, so hold tight!

...When Bill Tiller replied Pedro for the A Vampye Story‘s demo sent (see previous post), he said that he almost cried hearing (it) the Track/A Vampyre Story - Main Theme/Mona’s Tragedy ... “I was in heaven!” Pedro says.

Before Pedro‘s association with A Vampye Story was confirmed, there was other Main Theme to the game, written by Zachary Quarles (of Quake 4 & F.E.A.R. 3), and to Pedro‘s luck; Zach got an awesome contract back then to another company and had no time left for A Vampyre Story , and this is when Pedro‘s talent and luck came forward ‘together’.

I wanted to write for games, which was the passion I always had, it was the reason I started learning music in first place”  Pedro Macedo Camacho said, at one interview “Thank you Bill and Amy! I have an endless debt to you!”.

.

I actually always loved A Vampyre Story - Home Sweet Home more than the Main Theme/Mona’s Tragedy .

..early 2012, Gene Mocsy, and his wife flew to Madeira Island, in Portugal to visit Pedro Macedo Camacho also to show Pedro his new game, (which has some art done by Bill Tiller too) and check if he could score it, this game turned out to be Alcatraz 1954 (Ost previously previewed).

According to one of Pedro‘s comments (I am no expert in Jazz Music) this was the first video game in history with an original Jazz Standard.

Alcatraz 1954 is a very enjoyable ag, but just one thing negative could be very trivial or very irritating (depends on how you see it worth the pain); it has one of those long time/period for loading each screen (about 3-5 secs) and sadly with the game’s idea of much backtracking involved (which should have been cool, IMO), made me give up on it around 3/4 of the game .

Alcatraz 1954 - Try and Forget Me  Vocals: Maria José Leal

Gene Mocsy haven’t revealed who is gonna be composer of his recent successful kickstarter Duke Grabowski, Mighty Swashbuckler!, and tho he used one of Pedro‘s Ghost Pirates of Vooju Island soundtracks to the campaign trailer, that doesn’t confirm anything, yet!

And just a notch above casual adventure gaming, i will try to track down five suitable ags for new comers to the genre as to able to reach/maintain certain advanced ones such (not only for the difficultly) i.e Riven and Woodruff and The Schnibble.

I will start with Emerald City Confidential as i consider this ag is the perfect start of the recipe to any new adventure gamer (imo/and again just tiny step after casual adventuring), has a great story theme set in the magical land of Oz, the gameplaying is easy presented into certain stages! with empty row of gems get filled every now and then as you advance through the story/game, a very smart move (a bit similar but more catchy to the idea of the early Sierra’s scoring system) to keep novice players ‘especially’ fully aware of their achievements through the journey, graphics and artwork are very cheerful, just full of beauty, easily capturing your heart and vision, also its out-look ought to be considered the the most advanced of all Wadjet Eye* Games (from production-value-aspects), with simplified save-game system and controls. long enough (about 5-6 hours), and ‘at last not least’ the game also holds pretty good voice acting.

Emerald City Confidential -  VS Mombi
Composed by Thomas Regin
.
.

P.S: Well, the adventure could be defined as almost casual, but its just ‘almost’, i still consider Emerald City Confidential a traditional ag but with much simplifications.
P.S.S: The game was very enjoyable for me and could be ‘also’ to old timer adventure gamers.

*yet to play A Golden Wake
