Adventures worth playing from the last five years or so

I disagree. Beyond the pixel-art style, both Resonance and Primordia offer puzzles with multiple solutions, harder-than-average puzzles and multiple endings. The last one is pretty superficial in both, but the game “style” is quite similar, with the exception of Resonance’s more innovative puzzle mechanics.

Superficial? I don’t think so. Primordia is exceptionally well-designed. A lot of effort was put into Resonance, obviously, but the story and characters just didn’t interest me enough to finish it. And thematically the games are very different.

That’s a valid point. I value gameplay over everything else, but you’re absolutely correct the tone of the games is very dissimilar.

The Walking Dead and Wolf Among Us are more like Visual Novels really.

I think you mean “interactive movies”. Visual novels are a whole different beast. Wink
