This just in! (http://www.adventuregamers.com/newsitem.php?id=1034)
Apparently we're much closer to running LucasArts' classics on the little touchy handheld than we thought.

I'll leave you at that, while I go and piss my pants in anticipation.

Yippee! Looks like I didn't make a wrong decision in getting a DS. Now, if only I got Monkey Island 1 to test it... ...

Can't wait! I heard about SCUMMVM on PSP, but it sounds a lot better on DS.

Now that is cool. :9~
I guess the moment when I buy a DS is getting closer and closer, as I just today ordered Meteos and Nanostray.

I guess it's nice to be able to play all these game on a DS... if you haven't got a PC. Else I really don't see the point of playing the same game on a tiny screen.

On the go, dude. Isn't that what portable gaming is about?

Bah, I prefer Pocket ScummVM on my Pocket PC, the screen is bigger for starters...
But still, this is great news for DS owners that DON'T have a PDA or Pocket PC... :P

DS adventures are cool, but this is very early so far.
The PSP version works better.
The DS one has no sound at all.
Would prefer to see them released legally though on either system, but until then this looks cool.

Would it support the touch-screen? That would be just so cool :)

I should hope so. That would be the only thing making this better than the PSP version.
But I'm not sure if it's in at this early stage. But hell, why not?

The touchscreen is used. The system is, however, a little annoying imo. I haven't tried it, as I can't play homebrew on my DS - and I'm too much of a coward and afraid to mess up the bios by flashing it.
But anyway, the way it works is that every time you put your stylus/finger on the screen it counts as a click. I hope this is fixed by holding down a button or so, so that you can properly "pixel hunt" when needed. Having your character move whenever you put the stylus on the screen will ruin a bit of the fun. Either way, it's probably going to be fixed in future versions, as I can't see how this system will be very well recieved.

I ordered a flash cart because of this. it will be so cool to be able to play classic adventures on the DS

Typically, there's no sign of this on the Lucasarts website.

Why would there be?

Wouldn't LucasArts be publishing it? Or does someone else own the rights now?

LucasArts has never had anything to do with ScummVM.

Ah! I've just re-read the news item and realised I wasn't paying attention. I thought it was all about Monkey Island.
