That's the only Al Lowe game that I haven't yet played, or owned...
And I've heard that it's a good adventure.

Torin's passage is a very underrated gem of an adventure. One of my first games ever. I was mezmorized. Played through it twice since I got it when it was new. I'm really looking forward to heading back for another go soon. (and note, it is RARE that I replay a game I have beaten). Enjoy the game t_manelius!

I miss this little game... After playing I stupidly gave it to my cousin and never saw it in a store again. Loved the Square Root puzzle :9

I found it in Turku, at Gameparadise, a knew store that is located near Braahe Center, close to "puutori"..

KQ7 and Torrins Passage were very similiar and although many people have had issues with both I loved them. They were gorgeous games with great sound music enviorment.
I have a couple unopened copies in my collection.
Woodruff and The Schnibble on the other hand wasnt the best of games. They came out about the same time but it is obvious it didnt get same budget.

The Spanish version is bugged, when I reach what I guess is a tile puzzle, the graphics are screwy and I can't see a thing...
It works fine if I skip a level, but that's kinda ruins the game.... :frown:
I actually bought another copy thinking it was a one time thing but, alas it wasn't...

I started the game several years ago on my old Windows 95 machine, and loved it. Only problem, about half way through, at some puzzle where there were six or seven individuals you needed to click on in some specific order, a window flashed up citing some "error", and the game then crashed. Several attempts to proceed beyond this point proved fruitless. Is there any chance I may have better luck on my Windows XP machine?

That was a major bug that hit everyone. Download the patch and enjoy it again.
Torin's Passage patch (ftp://ftp.sierra.com/pub/pc/patches/torinpat.exe)
That was a particularly nasty bug because it corrupted save games, too.
Saves will be unusable after the patch is applied, but since you can start at any chapter, this isn't a huge hardship.

Thanx for the info. I've just started the DVD version of Schizm I, and when I finish this, I'll download the patch and see if Torin will run on XP.
By the way, even though I've just started Schizm I can already tell that the graphics are considerably improved, and I'm already noticing that a number of scenes and locations, beyond just a couple of mission-logs seem to have been cut out of the CD version.
