I wonder though, is the whole game played in widescreen? Not that there's anything wrong with it.

I think I remember it transitioning to widescreen during cutscenes and back to full screen when you're in control. Someone else who's seen the demo please correct me if I'm wrong. (Where's Christina? She saw it like three times! :D)
