Still Life- stuck again

I'm in chapter 4. I've gotten the three new photos, located their relevance in all of the crime scenes, and gone down to the sewer in the ally and picked up the ring. I have 3 rings and 3 photos. I've visited every location several times and pixel-hunted like mad and talked to every person again and again but the game won't advance. What do I need to do?

Have you gone to visit Mark Ackerman? Milena should have asked you to, right after you came up from the sewer.

If this didn't happen, maybe you missed something down in the sewer that serves as a trigger?

Milena never asked me to visit Mark. You're right that I probably missed something in the sewer, but I don't know what...I clicked on the locked door.
when I go back to talk to Milena all Gus does is ask her what Slavnic dropped in the sewer...

I think you might be missing a ring. Let me check a save real quick.

EDIT: You should have four rings at this point, from:

the park, the scrapyard, the sewer, and Skalnic's office
