Looks like a builtin sound chip thingy. Well try to experiment the sound settings in the game if possible . Also try to update the AC 97 sound drivers from your motherboard's support website. Also update the direct x maybe its having some currupt file problems. If nothing else works just get a creative sound card from market and install it in your pc and you will notice everything is working great.

I have the sound card drivers updated and my direct x is also up to date. So it looks like this game just has a problem with my sound card. I have a win 98 computer also which I can use to run the game but the screen on that one is not working right so that is why I am still trying to get it to work on xp.

I guess that not many people have this problem. But if someone is having this problem also then I would like to hear from them.

On your XP machine, have you tried putting the game in compatibility mode before you run it? Seems counter-intuitive, since it's a sound issue, but sometimes compatibility mode takes care of weird situations. Try all the different settings (win95, win98, etc.)

Yes I have tried the compability modes on the desktop shortcut for the game. I have tried experimenting with the sound options in direct x. I think I have tried all the common sence methods of fixing it so if I canīt fix it soon then I will just play it on my win 98. The screen on that one is kind of compressed from the sides. Itīs like widescreen but it has got the left and right part of the screen cut of.
