Dedicated to LauraMac.
I voted for - or should I say "against"? - Brian (Simon was a serious contender, though).

I think the person was called Ronan. In Discworld Noir.

So I can't vote.
"Momo die under steamroller now!"

Glad to see Brian enjoying a healthy lead! Well, not so healthy once he's crushed under the unstoppable might of my steamroller.

But..but..I thought I would get to drive the steam roller! :(

The annoying sacrificial robot from Syberia 1 & 2. Swat two flies with one steam roller, and squish both him and the Hans he's carrying!

What's wrong with Brain? I mean other than his annoying voice.
Damn I voted for cedric, but that was before I thought of Hans!
Hans's character certainly aggravated me and I wanted to slap that delusional old man up-side the head!
So I misvoted, and really it should go to Hans (other). Or maybe Sam Gordon's voice actor...
Stan from Monkey Island. :|

Stan was supposed to be annoying.
Brian didn't annoy me that much, but remember in the new game he'll have sideburns which could sway my vote in a future poll.

You know, If the steam roller is all primed and rumbling - we could all be winners. Just drag that annoying character out - put it to a vote.
Game mob thumbs up - well they survive another day.
Thumbs down - to the roller!!! and the mob goes wild :9

Well... Everything in Syberia annoys me, so Oscar "wins" by default.

Stan was supposed to be annoying.
I think Fluffy Fluffy Bun Bun was too.
Doesn't stop me from wanting that abomination under a steam roller.
I don't see why people were so annoyed by Brian though.
The Brian in Runaway 2 maybe. He looks so goofy in the screenshots.

There's just something unnerving about a character that's so ignorant he pulls out his own heart by accident.

It's not unnerving, it's comedy.
It's funny because it's true.*D

Larry Laffer, for his recent exploration of mediocre mainstream games. To be fair that wasn't his fault, but it'd still be satisfying watching that guy get squished :D

Technically, Larry Laffer isn't the character in Magna Cum Laude. I think it was supposed to be his nephew. They sure look enough alike, though.

What insane justification, it isn't even him staring in the new one and he's one of the better adventure game characters anyway.

Oscar
I'd love to hear the iron bend and twist as he gets crunched untill he's a big shiny plate. Oh no...Kate Walker...not the steamroller...Kate Walker...

S'funny how Oscar comes a close second; he'd be less annoying if he didn't use Kates surname incessantly... :(

I haven't played Runaway (yet), and I didn't find Tony Tough THAT annoying, and Simon just came off as sarcastically funny.
Having fathomed the stomach-turning depths of King's Quest V, and nearly putting an axe through my monitor in disgust for said game, I'd have to say Cedric the Owl came off as the single most annoying AG character I've ever run into. :shifty:

I would say Cedric the Owl, but I love Owls, and I just can't get myself to starting the steamroller. :frown:
If he were another animal - let's say an annoying small dog (King Charles Terrier, Yorkshire Terrier [although they are somewhat cute], you name it. Probably would be better for some of them too. King Charles Terriers are usually born with Heart problems, and Yorkie's quickly get disfunctional knees.) - THAT would be another story... :D
And I voted "Other..." because I reserve this privilege not to a simple, helpless game character. No, neither do I reserve it for any politicians. I reserve this privilege for the stupid person who ruined the story of "Torin's Passage"! The story had so much potential! And then you have that dissatisfying ending.
The person who did that is just lucky that I do not know their name, or they would be under the steamroller right now. :frusty:

If it was my grandmother's yorkie, I would ride shotgun with you. I absolutely hated that dog, and so did most of my family. Yapped constantly, pooped everywhere, and attacked MY dog. Thank god she finally got rid of it.

There actually WAS some ending? Before or after a rightful heir to the throne exclaimed "Home at last!" and the end credits rolled?

I call it ending, because of lack of a better term.
But actually you are right: There was not really any ending.

LOL! Great topic! Oscar for me.... I know I was thinking to myself that it was silly really, he was just a game character for God's sake! But he made me grit my teeth.

As we all know, there's a huge difference between creating an annoying character, and creating and ANNOYING character. Andre Lobineau was one of those. I know he was intended to be an annoying character, but when the character annoys the player and not only the other characters within the game, that's when it's REALLY annoying.
I simply hated everything about Andre Lobineau, he annoyed the hell out of me, and I wish he didn't even exist in the games. He should have been more like Marcus from Indiana Jones, not as clumsy, but helpful and tolerant. That stupid dispute between George and Andre was just... well... plain annoying.

It was a big debate between Simon, Cedric, and Oscar. Yet in the end, the victory belongs to Oscar. I liked him in the first game, but after his cheesy attitude and fate in Syberia II, I found myself saying out loud "Wow... That's really gay".

I've said it once, and I'll say it again:
Sonny Bonds' partner from Police Quest III. She was a complete and total biotch.

With the same idea in mind, tie Jazz and Faust together, and then they'll probably add up to ONE character. THEN run the steamroller over them. Argh! If it wasn't for the fact that I actually paid for that game, I would have just crushed the CD as I did with the majority of the AOL promo discs.

I voted for Oscar, because he's basically a 'hobbled' killbot...
...I find him very creepy, not least because of the over-use of Kate Walker's name (which is also mind-numbingly tedious :frusty: )
...or should that be:
the over-use...Kate...Walker...of Kate Walker's, name...Kate...Walker...is, creepy...Kate Walker...and, mind-numbingly, tedious...Kate Walker. (*sleepy shivers*)

It's funny because it's true.*DSo giant orange demons (Glottis) pull their hearts out and throw them away regularly around you do they? Boy, you must live in one weird neighbourhood. :P
I voted for Fluffy Fluffy Bun Bun because i hate over the top cuteness. I can't believe Joey from BASS is in there though. He was scathingly sarcastic more than annoying. I mean, wouldn't you be a bit pissed off if you came back as a tiny vacuum cleaner?

I am pleased to see that nobody has yet voted for Joey. Quite why he's on this poll is a mystery to me.

Oh yeah, the "sniggering" (you might've noticed this if you played with captions on) weasly English (at least I think he was going for an English accent, albeit being Russian) fella was more than I could bear. :(
His retarded brute of a brother was a nice guy though.

how could you do this to the most lovable, cuteness and adorable deamon that exists (one of the best chars in any game)
bad...bad you
--------
I chose "other".
I tend not to hate the chars...i just can't...but if i had to choose i would torture the heroine of Atlantis 3 : The new World.
Even if she was played by Mastrogianni(?) (and the game was advertised enought for that figure) the woman just can't show emotion at any time of the game... :shifty:

Stan from Monkey Island. :|
NO! Really?? If Stan was a real person and was dead, I would pay any amount of money to get those wonderful flapping arms. Lovely and Irrepressible. Just try to make Stan's arms stop flapping. Stan isn't so much annoying as he is ingenious.
I voted for Brian Basco. I can deal with minor characters or sidekicks being subpar, but not the main character. Blargh.
