Wow crazy. 3rd and 1st person at once? :) And weird DS based puzzle solving... Looks neat.

Oh, you don't know if it's gonna be good or bad. Remember, ICO and Silent Hill came from Japanese minds. :D

Interesting. This is the same developer who did "The Glass Rose" for the PS2
Saved it over for later. hmmm

Some of the best games are made by japanese developers :frown:
They better release this in the US =(
Probably depends on how well the game is recieved in Japan and how easily it translates into english.

Now THERE'S a new idea! Drawing puzzles! It looked like you will have to rub charcoal across a pad of paper to find out what was drawn on the sheet on top of it. Kind of like in The Riddle of Master Lu, only with more involvement in the puzzle itself.

Yes this game will be awesome for a few reasons and mainly because of his brand new gameplay .
On the screen of the top you re on first person view, on the backside you re on the third .
It s totally unique and innovative .
This game could really bring something new to the table of adventure games and Nintendo always do games which are deep and immersive .
Can t wait to play it really

If it does well you can be sure other companies will follow suit.
(Personally I hope it convinces companies to port over their classic adventure games to the DS, Day of the tentacle on the DS! :9~ )

I've been watching Another Code ever since I got my DS. I'm really hoping for its success -- won't it be one of the first adventure games to feature actual voice communication with NPCs? That'll add a lot to the atmosphere, methinks.
Oh, and for those wondering about a US release, it's basically confirmed, considering how it has a page on Nintendo of America's website. They wouldn't talk about it here if there was no planned US release.

Damn, this does look good!
As was said, this could be a good way to introduce the adventure game to people.
I am eagerly anticipating this one (though there appears to be a lot of - seen it all before type puzzles from the video)

I'm not sure what you mean by this.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. The DS has a microphone for voice recognition stuff.
I can't personally see it being used a lot here though, but I could be pleasantly surprised.

I saw some game videos were you would have to blow into the DS (I think it was Wario Ware and Yoshi Touch and Go).
I dont know what is exactly the extension of this feature, but they could probably use it to do some new puzzles. (But you just cant play it in a windy day :)).
But this one and Lost in Blue are grabbing my atention. They look neat.

Ah, I see.
I was only saying to someone yesterday, voice recognition could be the new version of typing in commands in the old text adventures.

So how would the computer react if you start swearing during a game?
Would it swear back at you?
If you said $h!t would your character actually go and do it? :shifty:

Actually, as far as I know (and I could be wrong, this is just what I've been led to believe), you'll actually use the microphone to talk to NPCs. It'll probably use voice recognition technology and key words to determine what you're asking. I know the technology is there; just look at Lifeline (http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/operatorsside/review.html). I'm just not sure if they'll be able to utilize this on a DS game card.

If you said $h!t would your character actually go and do it? :shifty:Well, considering Nintendo already made a voice-controlled game like four years ago for the N64 (Hey you, Pikachu!)... if you called Pikachu "Rat" or other mean things (though not swearwords, they weren't recognized), he got angry. I actually liked that game a lot, even though it was a horrible failure both from a gameplay standpoint (simply too short and not too much to do) and also commercially, even though the Pokecraze was still pretty strong back then.

I know this is going to come across as picky, but the computer wouldn't react. The game might, but not the computer. :)
It's only going to react to the commands programmed in. However, it would be really funny if, when you swore, you lost a life or characters refused to talk to you until you apologised. Perhaps in a "gangsta" game you'd have to swear in order for your character to be accepted.

Ach! I don't want my game to punish me for yelling at it. If games did that - I would be in a lot of trouble as I yell at them from time to time. I remember telling, pleading with and then yelling at a particular "bonde hero" to not be so #$%^ dense and simply move 4 steps to the side of a stone bridge and $%^& -drop the freaking down now!!
Now if he had turned and said, "yell at me will you. Then watch this cut scene 20 more times - I am done"
Hmmm then I would have learned what pitching a PC out the window does to his reaction. :D

But, definitely about my preference for game characters reacting badly to a slip of the tongue :D
