:pan: A bit of help/advice/tips for those who are having a hard time installing Atlantis Evolution.
The publisher has shall we say "overstuffed" the CD's (i.e. more data than a typical CD normally holds <700MB> Some CD/DvD ROM drives have a hard time reading these CD's. I notice this on CD-1 in particular. It took me over 2 hours to get the bloody game to install, and I have new optical drive's (CD-R & DvD rom), on a fairly new system too.
I discovered that you do not need a CD in the drive to play the game, so I figured the game was not :frusty: copy-protected :frusty:
As a experiment I created a folder on my hard drive called "CD1" and copied the Entire contents of CD1 EXCEPT THE DirectX9 FOLDER! to this folder. This made the total data size to be less than the 700MB limit of normal CD's.
Then using Nero, I made a "backup" copy of these files to CD-R, and also made backup copies of the remaining 3 (2>4) cd's using Nero.
Now I can install the game in less than 5 minues.
This one poor example when it is a must to make backup copies of your game. Just so you can play the bloody thing in first place. I am glad in this case that the game was not copy protected.
Another case of poor QC at the Adventure Company. :D
