AURA...I'M STUCK, just got it..

I'm in the beginning, kids got it for me for x-mas. Can't get to the ship to get it ready. I'm having problems with the unit outside the house that looks like a gazebo.How do I line them up????

After activating the Navigational Map, and placing the colored gems: Blue, Red, Green, and corresponding Keys; "comma" with dot, "V" with dot, the "J" with dot, into the dome machine, it fires a laser on the side door and the screen-cut takes place, the button turns GREEN, but once I click on the GREEN button, the door opens BUT, it goes up to the ceiling. And, at that point I am stuck in the room right next to the door. Is this normal?
