This may seem like a silly question but I just got this game for Xmas and I can't find the door to get out of the cabin. The directional icon only allows me to go to the candle or to the chest, I've tried forever to get out of the cabin and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game and I've tried everything else I can think of. Is it that difficult to find the door? Any help would be appreciated, I feel like an idiot.

Thanks!

There are only two locations in that cabin. Pick the one closest to the door (it's on your right [and pretty dark, but the frame should be make-out-able] if you walk from chest to candle) and look for the door handle (it's a bit of a pixel hunt).

Hope that helps. :)

Thanks, I'll try again, but I was pixel hunting for over an hour and couldn't find it. Why do they make it so difficult?

Cheers!

I bet you had carrying around your chest (already picked it up in the inventory), isn't it so? It happened also to me, and I could no way get out of the cabin! I had to start a fresh game and got out without taking it (of course, Curtis returns back there later...) No pixel hunting here, I think it's a bug...

Other than that, I didn't find any other bugs, and the game is very stable (no crash at all). A bit strange menu, though... To load a game, you press Exit in the first screen, then you choose your player and it gets you automatically at your last save.

Btw, I've just finished it. Mixed feelings about this game. There were interesting moments for sure, but I didn't like the jungle maze at all. The stealth mode in couple of cases was quite ok, others may not like it. The mini-arcade puzzles are certainly out of place. The story is in general a bit loose, but I think it's getting better as the game goes on, and this is something I really liked.

Ah! Yes. That is a bug, I think. My apologies, I completely forgot about that, mostly because I only did it once for a moment, didn't do anything else but check out the room, and then looked at the "The first five minutes in the game" bit at the back of the manual (not sure if that's international, my version has that, goes up to the place with the guard, which so happens to be where I am stuck, myself :frusty: ).

Sorry!

On a side note, I'd like to point out that you can find the compete soundtrack in ogg format in the installation folder. There are some fine pieces there, I liked the ocarina tunes very much. Oh, and not to forget, I zipped almost all the "halt, deviant!" of the guardians and uploaded them. I'm sure everyone who played this game was a bit fed up with all these shouts on your face, but for some strange reason you may want to have them...

The file is 550k

Actually, it's not a bug. You can put the chest back down in the spot where you found it and continue with the game's intro sequence.

I've uninstalled it, so I can't try this again, but as far as I remember for some strange reason I was not allowed to put it back. I was clicking on this spot, but nothing was happening.

Edit: I think I know now what is wrong. If I remember correctly, you right-click on the screen to open the inventory and left-click on an item to choose it. Your cursor has now become the item itself. And now the trick: you have to right-click on the screen, so that the inventory closes and you can use the item. Obviously, what we were doing is to left-click, as soon as we had the item available from the inventory. Sounds logical, doesn't it?! :frusty: Funny, that the item was going back to inventory instead, without any reaction from Curtis...

So, it's not a bug after all, it's a feature! ;) Thumbs down for this glitch, in fact it's bad design. The second right-click should not be there, it's useless; the inventory should close by itself. Now that I think of, I noticed it later in the game too, but it seems I had meanwhile been used to that, so I didn't remember it while writing in this thread.

The inventory doesn't automatically close because there are one or two cases where you need to combine inventory items. Keeping the inventory open permits this.

However, it WAS an inconvenience.

It didn't let me put it down even after closing the inventory, though. Point being, that wasn't what I was considering the bug, but, hmm, then I don't understand why it works with Amerzone and BacardiJim. *broods* Hmm. My own personal glitch? Heh. :shifty:
