There are a lot of games based on real-life events but when I saw this story on Teletext (http://www.teletext.com/about.asp?subsection=about_home) the other day I wondered if things are going the other way.

Tracked it down on the BBC website here. (http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/beds/bucks/herts/4040127.stm)

A strange inscription. A baffling code. An ancient Sect. Is this an adventure game setup or what? (Sure, it might be a bit derivative but real-life hasn't had too much practice yet. ;) )

Anyone else seen any news itsms that could have come straight out of games?

The catacombs of Paris, and the movie fanatic cult that lived there. Or something.

Heh heh...not quite. It's more like adventure games imitating real life because people have been working on this kind of stuff for a long time. That's what makes the Holy Grail, the Priory of Sion, the Templars, and all those others such ripe material for adventure games--because this really is something of a mystery.

I see it more practically than above. I keep thinking as if I were typing in a text adventure. For example one day at work I had to: "use wrench with camera". Then I was able to: "use camera with stand". Then I had to: "Talk to boss". "Give camera to boss". Today alone I got to: "get monitor" "S" "E" "S" "S" "Use monitor with computer". It's pretty fun, I highly recommend it.

Now we only need the new "Cyborg"-Rats to help us investigate all that.

Yeah, I'm sure it is... (and yet another victim of the modern times)
