I'm kind of duty bound to ask this, so, hey...

What are your opinions (if any) on the huge number of amateur-developed adventure games out there? Do you have any favourites in particular? And have you got any advice for the amateur designer who might be reading this topic?

(less important) Follow-up question: Have you played any of them, if so, care to point any out that you enjoyed?

Note to Jake...

Do you have any favourites in particular?

Though your version was much clearer.

I think it's absolutely great that people like you keep the flame burning and create the games we all love.

I have always been a huge fan of the Do-It-Yourself spirit (I mean - HoT is a DIY company!). Adventure games aren't just games, they are a culture, and a culture needs a vivid and creative underground. :)

About the advice for the teams out there: Well, ahem, I don't want to tell you stuff you'll sue me for in 10 years because it was all rubbish. :)

What I can say could be from my dad or your mom: Believe in yourself, don't give up, and finish what you've started.

P.S.: I thought Pleughburg was really cool.
