The Longest Journey Chapter 3: Police Station Help!

Yours truly is having trouble again! I’m at Chapter at the police station area. I’ve spoken to the cop at the crash site and the actor-cop. I need to get inside the station by going into the garbage bins but I’m not able to. The bin at the start of the location won’t let me. I need a number. Help?

this should be in the game help section, I'm sure a mod will move it later on so people can find it better.

I'll give you a hint, if you still cant get it then post back and I'll give you an other hint or solution, which ever you prefer
