Yeah, we really do have some promising titles this winter.
Max Payne 2 looks superb, although I must admit I've been a little spoilt already seeing the marvellous graphics of games such as Half-Life 2. I mean, have you seen their latest tech-demo in which they showed all the neat sunlight effects? And the wet/shiny surfaces, the sun reflecting in windows, etc...
Broken Sword 3 is looking very promising also, but I still have to buy BS1 and it was only recently that I bought BS2. :D

I can't possibly be too anxious about the upcoming new releases because I already have such a full plate as it is. I'm still in the middle of Syberia, Splinter Cell, Indiana Jones & The Emperor's Tomb, and Silent Hill 2. Other games I have installed are Grand Theft Auto 3 and Tron 2.0, and those I honestly don't expect to finish these two for several months.
That said, I'm actually personally glad that Half-Life 2 has been delayed. Deus Ex 2, however, will probably throw me off my plans :D , it's practically the one game I want this year, and I intend to snatch it up the day it comes out - unless it too gets delayed. I also plan to get Max Payne 2 (who doesn't), Silent Hill 3 (PC), Broken Sword 3, Uru: Ages Beyond Myst, XIII, and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. And that's just for this year!!
Me too. Full plate. Haven't even gotten a fair share of hours out of War Craft III, which I got a LONG time ago. Have yet to finish campaigns 3 and 4 and still have the expansion to play. :o

I am very conflicted. There are many games I want this year (and when you factor in next year as well it's almost overwhelming) but I have no idea which, if any, will run on my current machine. So I'm sort of feeling "Woohooo!!! ...I think....er...Woohooo!! crap!" all the time. It's very odd ;)

Hmm, it seems that this autumn&winter I'll spend my days playing Max Payne 2, Robin Hood: Defender Of The Crown, Syberia 2 and possibly Broken Sword 3 and UFO:Aftermath.
Well, that's gaming enough for me.
And then there's all those "old" games that are on my ever growing playlist.

Syberia 2 was delayed until Spring next year so that they can release the console and PC versions simultaneously, sorry Kolzig!
Anyway it's kind of good news for BS3, because at least Halflife 2 and Deus Ex won't be hogging the limelight in its entirity. Noe if only someone would delay Max Payne 2...

Haha, I can just imagine if this were to happen... I think the entire gaming world would collectively explode. Max Payne 2 is like the sole big-name sure-to-be-blockbuster that seems it WILL come out on time.

LOL, indeed. Sucks to be European. You guys can't even shoot endangered species over there, let alone sinners.

I'll probably just be getting BS3 and BG&E this year. I might check out Armed & Dangerous, but we'll see.

even with HL2 and Syberia2 pushed back, there are still too many good games i'll have to check this year. And that includes: Knights of the old Republic, BS3, SH3(i think it's great that this one is coming on DVD), Armed & Dangerous, Black Mirror, Max Payne2, Commandos 3... 24 hours in a day won't be enough for me i guess

I played the Commandos 3 demo, and I thought it was quite full of crap. The 3d wasn't so greatly done and I could not playthe game easily & smoothly, or then I'm just too stupid to play that game. :shifty:
I totally forgot about SW:KotoR, I have been waiting for it's pc release for some time now. :9~
Of course Black Mirror is also one those games that I got to see. But I'm quite sure it won't come to Finland. But there's always importing it from elsewhere :)

? I'm sure you said in another thread that it was going to be a Tomb Raider clone... or am I missing some irony somewhere?

yah i did, well i didnt say it was a clone, i was implying that the redundancy of cliff / building jumping is really not fun at all, ie tomb raider. But yah like every game i own, even if the gameplay sucks, if the story is good ill get it. Adventure gameplay has always been mainstream but bs3 is changing it thats why im bashing the change, im a story junkie, imo theres nothing wrong with point and click and you all will agree, yah revolution is trying to make a change, but they are also trying to make sales to attract those tombraider / 3rd person jumpy fans. Remember tombraider flopped and there are that many fans to sponge off of. But if I have to sit through hour after hour watching that blond hair guy climb the wall in order to get to the next plot twist then so be it. And yes i beat bs 1 and 2 so thats another reason why im willing to play it, though it is not as hyped to me as some of you guys, bs1 and 2 were great, but story was just average imo. The way they present the story, the narration etc.. is what really draws me to the game
again its sad that im comparing an adventure game to tomb raider, i never thought it would ever come to this. And to make this clear, when i mean tomb raider i mean every 3rd person game where you jump. I dont think indiana jones succeeded in it, and i doubt full throttle would have succeeded in it. See where i'm going here, but again haven't played bs3, im not trying to kill it i just think it shouldnt be number one on the hypometer. Don't blame anyone though, this drought of adv games sucks @$$, compared to a few years back.

If you have to draw comparisons, it makes much more sense to compare the jumping in BS3 to that of ICO, where there's no actual challenge in the jumping/climbing/platforming -- they're just a grammar around which puzzles are based.
I like that.. I think I'm going to use the word "grammar" a lot more in future pseudo-intellectual crap I write.

BS3 has nothing to do with Tomb Raider. It is a PURE ADVENTURE. I already described it to you in that other thread you mentioned it in.
