Trouble Getting Return To Zork Working

I love Return To Zork it's one of my favourite games but the last couple of years it hasdn't worked for me the sound dosen't work and after you start it up it then frezzes. Can someone please help.

Please tell us a bit about your setup - what operating system are you using, what kind of sound card, etc.

When you got it to work before, was it on this same computer, or a different one?

At what point does the game freeze?

I'm using Windows ME and my sound card I think is NVIDIA Audio Codec Interface.

When the game worked before it was on my old computer which I think was a 586 with Windows 95.

The game freezes basically as soon as you start the game.

Is this a DOS game? If yes, have you tried quitting to the DOS prompt and running it that way?

I don't have WinME so I'm not sure if I'll be able to help.

Hi sorry for resurrecting this thread and for not answering back. I got busy with school and soon after that my computer went on the fritz, I lost all my bookmarks so I forgot about this forum. Until today when I was looking around still trying to get Zork to work.

Anways quick update i have Windows XP. I've tried DosBox (which I don't know anything about and very hard to figure out) and VDM Sound. And still nothing.

I love this game can anyone help me? Walk me through DosBox perhaps tell me what i'm doing wrong?
