So, any of you playing Star Wars Galaxies, and if so, on what server and with what nickname?
I just bought it several days ago (although it's officially intended to be played only in North America), and it's IMMENSE!!!

I was looking forward to play it, but the monthly fee ultimately put me off. I just don't like the extra hassle of subscribing and I wasn't sure if I had enough time to play the game. I'm not going to waste money every month while only playing the game once a week or so.

Of course I agree with you. It's just that for me - as a Star Wars geek - a game like SWG is simply too good to be true. So, nobody here except me is actually playing it? Come on, there must be somebody... :)

I'm a pretty bug Star Wars fan myself, but I can't get myself to play this game. The monthly fee, the numerous bugs that are still being reported, etc.
I played Dark Age of Camelot for quite some time, and it was fairly good. I think that game really got most of it correct at launch, it was very stable and well designed. I stopped playing after 6 months or so, and I never tried the expansion. But still a nice game, something I have a hard time seeing SWG top.
Personally, I'm waiting for World of Warcraft...

I wonder if SW Galaxies is going to be succesful with it's hefty fee and all.
I also wonder if many other companies will follow Galaxies example, because franky I don't think many people will buy multiple games if they will have to pay 10 bucks every month per game. I mean, that would be *very* expensive.

SOE All Access (http://www.station.sony.com/allaccess/) is a subscription service that SOE is offering, which gives you access to EverQuest, PlanetSide, EverQuest Online Adventures (PS2) and the 'lesser' Station Pass games for 21 dollars a month. The downside? It's not valid for Star Wars Galaxies and versions of the aforementioned games that are published outside of North-America. So.... yeah, it's kinda not worth it.

Yeah, but who's got the time to play more than one MMORPG anyway? These games demand so much of your time, you couldn't possibly play more than one of them, and since SWG is Star Wars, the choice is fairly easy for me. :)
The monthly fee - yep, it's quite a bit of money, but I look at it this way. If I buy one less CD a month than I used to, I won't notice any difference. ;) It may not work in reality, but it certainly makes me feel better. :)

That's exactly my point: Not many people will buy more than one or two MMORPG games because it costs money plus they don't have the time.
So that means the market is small and the competition is hard for developers of the MMORPG genre.

Sorry, Eirik, but I'm waiting for the free few months of online Uru: Ages Beyond Myst, with the option to continue a paid subscript. I don't care for MMORPGs, and Star Wars ultimately bores me to death. :D

Maybe so, Trep - Maybe so.
But you're still my friend! ;)
