So Blonde Technical Issue?

Hi there,
I don't know if anyone can help me. I have just bought this game and started playing it. Everything seemed to be going ok. Except the part where I am supposed to get the bag from the animal in the tree.

From cheats and walkthroughs I can see what I am supposed to do. The only trouble is there is no sign of this supposed animal. Sure, she acts like she has seen it but I don't see it jump out of the raft or see it in the tree.
Is this a fault

Well, things get odder still.

When I was playing this game I knew something was wrong when I couldn't see the animal with her handbag. I also couldn't see the boy in that screen either but I just thought he was hidden behind the rock and thought nothing more of it.

So I decided to load the game onto my PC (was on my laptop) to see if it solved the animal problem and here's what happened....

The game begins and I get the shock of my life - there is a girl!! The main character is on my screen and I can see her!!!
Walked to the screen where the animal in the boat is and what do I see? I see a REAL boy (ok not so real but you get what I mean).
And then I FINALLY see the animal!!
WOHOOOOOOO!!!

Ok, so does anyone have any idea why none of the characters were visible on my laptop??
My laptop uses XP pro, my desktop uses XP media. Both with all the latest service packs.

Ok, so I reloaded the game onto my laptop and I still have the same problem - no girl, no boy and no animal. Basically that's no characters are showing at all.
Any ideas why this would happen?

You sure your laptop meets the requirements?
I'm thinking of the graphic card.
It's usually because it's an integrated card.

yeah i have the same problem with not seeing the characters. I guess its the whole laptop thing and i dont have another computer. Now im at a point where do i keep playing and guessing where everything is or do i just throw that money away. =( Any advice? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Thanks for your reply. The recommendations are: "Direct X 9 compatible graphic card," which seems rather vague to me.
I also updated the graphics card software but that made no difference.
I have played plenty of other games that have worked fine on this laptop though - The Ankh being one that comes to mind.

Just saw the spec on my laptop - it says it's Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950
If that means anything?!?!

Hmmm interesting. When I get no characters I cannot play at all. The mouse does not pick out anything. For example, very early in the game you need to get your handbag from an animal. My mouse did not register that there was an animal at all.... unless my mouse didn't hover in the right area - I thought I'd tried everywhere!!

Maybe keep it for when you get a new computer/laptop one year? Or sell it on ebay?

I don't know if they still write this on the back of game boxes (they used to), but as Laptops are usually not specifically built for gaming, games are temperamental on them. You should never expect a game to work on a laptop. I used to own a number of them, but after a great many games refused to work, I invested in a proper PC.

Times might have changed, but last time I checked most developers don't test their games on laptops unless they're the really powerful ones that are built for gaming. Another reason why it's only luck that'll determine if a game will work on one or not.

thanks for everything..yeah i can play the game no problem just cant see where anything is without hovering my mouse over it. This is the only game i've had a problem with and i play all kinds of games on this thing..plus i just put more memory and updated all my drivers and such..i guess im just gonna move on to another game ..thanks again!
