See that the big box version of this seems to be quite expensive - athough they are all on buy it now's on ebay - not sure if any will be purchased at those prices
Is it that rare? Over £100 rare?

It is rare, but (if you're planning on getting it that is) you may be able to get it cheaper than £100 if you wait a bit and with a bit of luck. I have the bounty pack myself, but not with the large outer box - just the jewel case. You can just get the games in the jewel case for about £38-40. I think that's how much i paid.

I was bored and going through my original PC games and typing them into ebay ( yes - that bored! ) and was surprised when the Bounty Pack price came up!

I can remember these being in Game for £40-ish when I was about .. 13? 14? (Im 18 now.) but I never bought one as I owned 3 and 4, and there seemed little point.. I eventually found and bought number 2 from a charity shop (Praise the gods.) but was never able to find number 1 (Praise the gods again for special edition) So I dont know if its worth it.. if you want to own all four in a pretty box then I suppose so ;)

We have all four games in orginal boxes (my brother gave away MI1 because he got it again on a compilation disc *argh*) but I love the look of the bounty pack. I miss big boxes... but the price is way too steep!
Sheesh... I never played the Monkey Island games when they were current (I veered away from adventure games in the late 80s, and just recently have gone back to the genre)... prices like this are part of the reason why piracy is rampant. I would rather pirate the games than pay out the @$$ for 15-year-old games -- and that's coming from someone who is usually morally opposed to piracy.
Seriously... why are games this old still so expensive???

Probably because it's collectors items and very rare to come by. :D

but why is it rare?
Are they numbered boxes or something??? The world of warcraft collectors eds which i bought back when i was playing were about 50 bucks cheaper on ebay then they were in the stores. They were extremely hard to get instore if you wanted them on release day and they came with coffee table books and cds and dvds and mouse pads, gaming cards and other free stuff like in-game pets. And they were nowhere near 100 pounds.. which in my calculations is over 220 aussie dollars.. crazy!!!

It's really just a nostalgia thing I suppose.. the Monkey Island series is legendary for most point and click fans. <3
It's not just the Bounty Pack... I haven't seen a copy of either of the first couple MI games anywhere for a reasonable price. I realize that MI 1 is getting remade, and I'll probably be one of the first in line to get it. But no way am I paying $50 (the cheapest price I've seen anywhere) for MI 2, which is almost 20 years old. I'll pirate it first (unless a remake of that comes out as well, before I get to it).

I paid over £100 I think... unfortunately the games weren't half as good as what I was told they were. Honestly, you're better off buying 'Curse of...' seperately (the only one I enjoyed), downloading a MegaCD emulator to play the megacd version of original for free and finding some other way to play the 2nd game, because they're really not worth £50 together let alone £100.
