Bugged to the shit house....

im obviously trapped in the house and supposed to break out. HOwever, i can just bring up the red arrow over the door and walk in and out anyway.. thus not triggering whatever cut scene is supposed to happen next.

When i try to use the HOT shovel under the door she says "i want to do taht but theres not enough room under the door"

so i use the pick axe to jam it open a notch and she seems happy that theres now room but then when i try to use the shovel on it again "no reason to do that"

wtf?

theres also a bug where i walk into the house before even looking at the graveyard map and if i try to open the door she tries and says "...locked me in there and took the key!" but it clearly hasnt happened yet.

I just bought the game online waiting for it to arrive. is it all bugged like this?
or does the escape puzzle have to be pefrmed in a specific unreversible order??

Hi!

I have a prob with the vampyre story. When i starting the game with double-click its icon it dont start and write the following messege:

...

PLs help, i tried to google but it just drop a russian help ... :S

By the way : i have an msi gx720 laptop, with vista and dx10 is installed too

Is it the full version of vampyre or the demo? I know for the full version they have a patch and some info on bug fixes on their website, here:

if anyone else has info about the buggy demo... i would appreciate knowing whether that shovel actually would have normally got me out of the grave keepers hut. I'm sure it would just didnt seem to work in the demo... my full version is arriving in the mail soon so i should find out for real....

Hi GoT,

At the very beginning of the demo, Mona's not trapped in the hut yet, so she can still enter and exit. She won't become trapped until she looks at the graveyard map for the location of her grave. This triggers a scene (NOT seen in the demo) where Shrowdy locks her in.

You (i.e. Mona) do use the shovel to escape from the hut. Since Mona won't carry any tools around unnecessarily, she'll keep the shovel in mind (as a blue inventory item) for later.

This is the solution to the demo:
1. "Take" the shovel (so she will keep it in mind).
2. "Take" the pickax (to keep it in mind).
3. "Take" the bellow (to keep it in mind).
4. Use the shovel in the furnace (to give her the idea for later).
5. Use the perfume on the furnace, which causes the fire to roar, melting the icicles, which drip into the drainpipe and into the basin, where the water refreezes.
6. Examine the window, to see the water frozen in the basin.
7. Wedge the door open a bit with the pickax.
8. Use the shovel to knock over the basin so it's in front of the door.
9. Use the (hot) shovel again to melt the ice so the water will flow into the hut through the gap under the door.
10. Use the bellows on the puddle (to give her the idea).
11. Use the bellows (full of water) on the furnace.
12. Click when the arrow appears on the furnace. Escape!

My only advice to anyone buying A Vampyre's Story is to make sure you patch the game before playing it.

Thanks for the tip about the demo.

As for the full game.. I've already pre-ordered the version that is coming out in Australia and payed for it. Now im wondering if i should have.. Is it really that buggy??

The demo i played was completely messed up.

I had kinda worked out to put the spade under the door but the demo was bugged and wouldnt do it and i could simply walk THRU the closed door to leave the hut to no avail.

bugs bugs bugs..

i hope another patch comes out if its still as buggy as crap.

Have you updated all your video card drivers and such? Maybe its a graphical problem?? Is it made to run on vista? I'm sorry that i cant help more but i'd also suggest emailing the game company and asking that same question! I had similar issues with Magic Online where i couldnt get it to boot up and their customer service department contacted me within a couple of hours and told me what to do. I had to refresh my .NET or something like that.... i dont know much about computers really... i hope someone can help you.
