A Vampyre Story - Can't load saved games after patching

Hi all,

Hopefully someone on here can help me out. I recently had a problem with A Vampyre Story, where upon entering the dress shop, the game crashes in Vista with no explaination.

I then installed the most recent official patch for the game, and now I can't load any of my old saved games at all - but I can start a new game and load that fine.

Below is a description of the error - means nothing to me though

this game is sooo goddamn buggy... there's no point in continuing to play it for me then... :frown:

WARNING *some spoilers* (but then again, the game crashes, so proceed with caution).

This is how I worked around the dress shoppe crashing bug, for future reference :)

Basically, the whole stadium task is what I think crashes the game, if it is done before its time. So. First install the game patch that was released, then load your game where you are entering the dress shoppe for the first time (where it didn't crash for me at least). Make sure you *enter the shoppe* properly, pick up/sombine the *item* you need to take care of the guard at the stadium, learn what you need to *do* at the stadium from the kids upstairs and then proceed normally with the game. Once I had these information and the bug fix was installed, the woman simply stopped exiting the kitchen so it didn't crash on me any more. So enter, make sure you do all of the above, then hopefully you can play till the finish, I was able to anyway.

I thought this game was a very pleasant surprise after playing nothing like it for a long time (since monkey island 4 I guess), and I wouldn't describe this game as "too buggy to play", but then again, I have played and finished "Benoit Sokal's Paradise"... hope this helps!
