Help! Evany: Key to a Distant Land (Crystal Key 2) by Kheops does not start.

Hello!

I have been playing all the games from Kheops Studios and the only one left is Evany (Crystal Key 2). When I try to start the game I get the following error:

Evany.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Very helpful... I have tried installing it on both Windows XP and Windows Vista on two different computers with different graphics cards (Radeon HD 2600 and some 3d-accelerated intel-thingy). They both give the same error.

Also Kheops web page sucks! Most of the information are in english but some are in french! The Crystal Key 2 page does not even exist anymore and gives an error.... Very good.

Lucky this game does not have the DRM which we all encountered in Dracula 3... My installs would be all used up then :)

I have googled all around to find a solution but there is none and since the troubleshooting over at Kheops is in french, I turn to you. Anyone have a solution? Tried: Compability Mode, UAC (on/off), Fresh XP install...

I'm having the same problem with Evany as you had. I see your question is over year old but did you manage to get the game going?

Have you tried uninstalling it then reinstalling it? :P

No, it still does not run.

Yes I've tried reinstalling, I've told you that :)

Might try installing inside a virtual machine just to see if something is wrong with my hardware...

Evany require a patch for Nvidia.

I succesfully used a patch from http://www.patches-scrolls.de/evany.php
