I'm having a real big problem with this. No one on the Her Interactive board knows what's wrong. I know how to extract files and such and have done it with the other demo games from the Nancy Drew series. But for some reason the new VEN demo will not play on my computer. Here's what happens.
I click the mask icon/exe file and the game comes up. First, it shows the ESRB rating screen and well that's pretty much it. I left it on for at least an hour and it never left that screen. The magnifying glass cursor does move and when I check in the Windows Task Manager it does not saying anything about the game not responding. The game demo will not move beyond that ESRB screen. I don't actually get any errors from the demo.
I am the admin of my computer. There are no other accounts on here. I even did a fresh install of Windows XP last night and upgraded to SP2. I have the lastest DirectX installed. Firewall and antivirus were disabled. I even did the tests in the dxdiag and they all came back with good results. I've never had any other problems with the other 17 games from the Nancy Drew series nor have I had any problems with their demos either. This one has got me left scratching my head. Can someone help me out with this? I really want to play this demo.
