1. you cant skip a dialog at all. yes i read fast my dear developers. or i just feel like skipping it. or u just want to extend the play hour to highest possible time. come on, you can do better then that.
2. you cant skip a line of dialog, and i mean line. i dont want to skip the whole dialog with one click. just a single line. a single visible line. then, i will decide what to do with the next line.
3. you cant skip movies, in-game movies, or u cant skip automated in-game animations when it is out of player control - car parking, elevators...
4. you cant double click on the edge of a screen and enter quickly the next screen. yes i m impatient or i just dont want to walk the same location again and again and again. sometimes i will, and sometimes i wont.
5. you cant run. another of yours cunning tricks to extend the play time? or maybe it is more stylish when the main character just walks slowly across the wide scrolling location, and you watch him, or go to shopping and come back while he gets to the other side of that location. no really, include run.
6. there is no map. map is a feedback and orientation that is sparing us from unwanting and boring walking and running around. it keeps me going, and motivating me to go forward into the game.*
7. you cant click on a place on the map you already visited and show up there.
8. there are dead ends. i dont really have to explain this. sure, there are some games i will play even with the dead ends. monkey island 5, gabriel knight 4.. and thats about it.
9. when you travel to distant place, the location just pops up. at the back of the game box you can write how we will travel to paris, amazon jungle and others, but not everything is in game screens. convince player. havent u ever played indiana jones and fate of atlantis? just a world map with a moving line will do.
10. when you try to combine items in inventory, you need everytime to click on the first item before you click to second because cursor with first item dissapeared. yes, it is stupid when we are stuck and we just select one item and in two seconds we try to combine it with every other item in inventory but we like it that way.
oh i forgot many others for sure. yes, i m a bit ironic here but its only because it seems that adventure games are coming back to the track, especially in therms of ideas, scenarios, nice graphics, interesting characters, and little things means a lot in therms of technical and production quality
* this is mainly for keyboard controlled 3rd person games when it easy gets frustrated to run around just to get to some location. however, i d like to see the map in every 3rd or 1st person game, and depending on a type of game, it can be orientational map that is avaliable in any moment of the game so you can click on a desired location, or traditional map with locations when you choose where to travel next.
