Just wondered if you ever felt that you could recognise yourself in a adventurecharacter, both in personality and looks :P ?
I recognise myself as Guybrush regarding looks. e.g I'm pretty alike Guybrush in the ending credits in Monkey 1.

As for the personality, I would say Manny, In his situation, I really would act the same way. Also that he's a guy that don't really shows his true feelings until the time is right.
I'm waiting for the one who says he/she :D looks like Manny!

Hmm.. I guess George Stobbart. In both looks and personality.
Propably that's why I hated him so much the moment I started playing BS for the first time  (When it comes to Nico he is almost as stupid as I am in this particular aspect - but personal matters aside)
However, now George is the adventure character I identify myself most with.

George Stobbart is the one I identify the most with.
So, yeah, George.
Indiana Jones with a moustache :D
Really :D
Personality-wise, though, I don't know of one yet.

I am my own self. I seldom see myself elsewhere or manage to identify. How many Buckminster-Fulleresque-George-Carlin-like whiners are there in computer games? Very goddamn none.

You remind me of Malcolm, from Kyrandia.
You also remind me of Danny Kaye, though...
What's in a name, eh?

Tex Murphy, of course!
Not so much the UAKM Tex, but the Pandora and Overseer Tex is a lot like me.

Feeble from Feeble Files, especcially the way he always do everything that turns against everyone, including himself, plus the way he handles with beautiful ladies :)

I don't think I've ever spotted an AG character I've really identified with, on a personal level. Naturally I've identified with the likes of Manuel Calevera and Guybrush Threepwood within the context of the story. I'd like to find one though.
On the other hand, it stands to reason that perhaps the reason there aren't any characters in games I identify with is because my exterior personality isn't really interesting enough to enhance a game. My inner personality is quite fascinating, but that doesn't really matter, does it. :)

Nope. Unless you're head is shaped like a skull and you talk with outlandish accents (a common theme in ags), you're screwed :D

I never identify myself with characters on a personal level. I have rather enough of me in real life for that to be interesting (although it would be rather interesting to look and behave like Zaphod Beeblebrox ;)).

I kind of relate to Bobbin Threadbare, who always seemed kind of quiet and introspective and on the edges of things.

This really is an intresting question. It was especially fun to read peoples responses. :D
Just look at my avatar and you know who I am. No seriously, I look some what like Guybrush. I really have no idea who resembles me personality wise. I have to think for a while...

I can't say I really related on a personal level to any characters I've controlled in adventure games (partially for reasons Kingz mentioned), but I will connect on a general human level to characters in well-written adventures with excellent character development.

I saw myself in April Ryan.
I sort of see myself the same way Mira, except I don't look like her. I'm more like Elaine Marley with shorter hair (Elaine of the Monkey 1 & 2 rather than the later games). Well either her or 'The Goldilocks' from Simon the Sorcerer 2.
Ok so I'm overcomplicating things again (silly me), but I'd say I'm most like a combination of April and Elaine's personalities and I look like The Goldilocks. Ha ha I'm more complicated than I thought.

I'm glad I can't think of a games character that reminds me of me. I would consider it really boring to play with myself. :P
I'm Rincewind. But only because somebody apparently once said, on these forums, that I look like Eric Idle. Which I don't. But I still take it as a compliment. He's a genius. Not only did he write Always look on the bright side of life but he also wrote the Discworld 2 classic That's Death!.

In looks I'm sure I'm a villain of some sort (not sure of a particular game but my looks just scream villain. I think it's the beard)
Overall personality probably Guybrush Threepwood. Tries hard and gets the job done but can screw things up with overeagerness on the way. I can't hold by breath for 10 minutes though.
Completely off-topic, if anyone's got a copy of Monkey Island 1 and hasn't tried it, get to the point where you're thrown in the water and just let it run.
Boy, those Lucasarts programmers showed real attention to detail on that one.

having only recently discovered this thread...i'm searching my mind for an appropriate answer...
first of all i believe that adventure games are supposed to provide a sense of escape...to be someone you could never be in real life...
on the other hand...there should always be a little something that the gamer can identify with in the protagonist...or other characters in general...
as for me...i have'nt yet found a charcter that looks even a bit like me...but find a character in an adventure game who is an introvert,a little shy,has difficulty in properly talking to girls...and you will have found a person like me...
well i do have a darker side...and the misanthropist aspects of lewton i can most identify with...
