looking for an Adventure Game

Dont know what it is called, you play a P.I or a Detective investigating a murder, I think it is in France [not sure] I am sure it is made by a French gaming company. I think the story is a kind of jack the ripper theme, I do know the game didnt have a ending.

Still life? It's set in N.Y. and Prague, and it's got an open ending, since it was supposed to have a follow up that never got made
