Theme Hospital is now six years old!

Hah! I guess re-releasing games still works! Anyways, at least more people get to try out the fabulous Theme Hospital. Great game.

Have you tried eye-toy?
When I read about it I decided it was silly, then I read another article and decided it was silly... but maybe fun, then I (in a weak moment, persuaded by my husband) bought it.
I tried it together with some friends and a lot of wine and it is very silly but cannot remember the last time I laughed that much :)

Eye-Toy is brilliant. It really does deserve its sucess. A whole new idea in gaming (um.. well nicked from Konami but who cares!), there is a whole lotta promise with eye-toy, its really odd that no-one has really thought of making a game using motion detection instead of a controller before. It does away with all interface problems..

Athough its a shame the games weren't more developled. A lot of them looked and played like free shockwave flash games and weren't worth returning to.

The Great Escape!? #2!?

Wait until all the people who bought it, play it.

I tried the Eye Toy in a store... Seemed kinda stupid to me, but that was the games fault. None of them were fun for more than, lets say, 30 seconds. It'll be interesting to see them do something REAL with it.

And yay to The Charts returning! And Theme Hospital kicks ass. I love the sound of inflated heads going pop....

Eye Toy is mostly a party game. I can't imagine playing games with it on my own. It's only fun with some friends who can laugh at you for making a stupid ass out of yourself. (I'm sort of speaking out of experience here :shifty: )

So, kinda like Samba de Amigo, only with more movement. :o

What the hell is Eye Toy?

A gizmo for the PS2 that registers your body movements, making you able to, for instance, manipulate gadgets in the game Minority Report-style.

Crazy...so is it just a funky controller or is it a game that also comes with a funky controller? And in the case of the latter, can you use said funky controller for other, less funky, games?

Yes to the latter... I dunno if any other games support it. It COULD be interesting, but I just thought it felt clumsy... And you were also reflected on the screen a lot (it's sort of like a film camera), so it didn't look very good....

Good to see the charts back feis. No suprise about the Eye-Toy, it's an excellent innovation that breaths new life into the PlayStation2. It's a pity about the state of the sales of Republic: The Revolution as, despite it's difficulties, it has a bold and new design to bring to gaming. Hopefully this will not deter Elixir from pushing the boundaries on their new project, Evil Genius.

Sony is developing a new game disc for Eye Toy, Groove-something I believe.

I've tried out Eye Toy somewhat, and although it's a novel idea, it's SO easy to cheat and abuse with it.

Eye-toy is essentially a usb-web cam. Its made by logitech, sold as sony and you get the camera and the disc for the price of a game. Its used to detect your movements as a replacement for the controller.

It already works with Police 24/7 a lightgun game where you have to dodge bullets. Apparently almost every playstation 2 publisher is working on titles using the technology. As well as Eye-Toy: Groove, WRC:3 is using eye-toy in a car washing mini game :O

Thanks for all the comments people!

I've been wondering, that does that eye-toy turn the image into mirror image? Like if you reach for the upper right corner of the screen, does the figure (you) on the screen reach for the upper left corner, or is it turned into a mirror image?

yep if you reach for the upper corner of the screen the figure (you) on the screen reaches for that corner too.

although there is a really cool mirror puzzle game on there that flips the screen around in lots of wierd and confusing ways..
