Hey guys,
Well I've posted this previously on the Dreamfall forums here:
http://forums.longestjourney.com/showthread.php?t=5763
...but I've had no luck thus far so hopefully one of you can help me :) Also let me know if this isn't an appropriate forum to post this sort of stuff...
So I started playing Dreamfall the other day, and it was running perfectly - until one particular bit in Chapter 5, where it crashes to the desktop every time :( I tried a number of things to get past this - I'm running the latest version of Dreamfall (I got the Steam version) and have the latest drivers for my graphics card. I tried toning all my graphics settings down to the minimum but still no luck.
Finally I spoke with technical support for Dreamfall and they told me it was because of my configuration - I'm running a Core 2 Duo (E6600) with GeForce 7950 GT. Apparently the 79XX versions of the GeForce cards are not supported by the game :(
Since I don't seem to be able to get around my technical issue with a patch or driver update, and it doesn't look like the Dreamfall guys are going to try to release a 79XX-specific patch anytime soon, I was hoping I could get around it by asking for someone to give me a save game to bypass the bit where it's crashing (see below)...
--Minor spoilers--
It's the bit where you first start playing as April in Marcuria (apart from her battle scene in the initial stages of the game), after you talk to Chawan about breaking into the Azadi tower, and Brynn gets mad at you for abandoning Zoe and runs off. Every time I try to exit the inn, I get the loading screen image, and then Dreamfall crashes to the desktop. So I was hoping someone could give me a save game file that's saved just after you exit the inn?? Pretty please?? :)
--End spoilers--
I know there's no guarantee I won't get the same issue happening somewhere later in the game...but it was running really well up until this point so I'm HOPING it's just a one-off problem that's not going to happen again... :|
Thanks in advance for your help guys.
