Still Life : Black screen at startup - Vista

Oh i hate it when this happens, i installed the game i run it, and i get this black screen, and just nothing happens anymore,nothing shows up.

Zepto Znote 6214W laptop
Core 2 duo , 2ghz
Geforce 7600 gs 512MB
Windows Vista
DX10.

Someone on another forum said they got Still Life running with Windows Vista by running the game in Windows 98/ME compatibility mode. Have you tried that?

WOW awesome , it worked!!!!!

The Microids logo showed up right away...however, one other weird problem ....when the intro has finished and i walk up to that cop, nothing happens anymore...the woman stands there with that stuff in her hand and that's it. I do still see the snow going down....but nothing else...very weird.

I watched the intro again, and this time i didnt go to the cop but i clicked on the car, when she walked up to it...it just froze.
Pressing ESC doesn't even do anything anymore....very weird.

I had the same problem, with the blank screen when I tried to run it, and I tried running it in 98/ME but it keeps telling me that "Launching this application in compatibility mode is impossible." Any suggestions?
