I kid you not.

"I read it on the Internet, so it must be true."

Well, if it's in Variety, it's almost certainly true. Interesting!

There is no reason to doubt this is legit; Doug TenNapel confirms (http://tennapel.nomoretangerines.com/viewtopic.php?t=6910) the news on his own site.

And there are some real people behind it, unlike with that other recent adventure-game-to-movie announcement. Certainly something to look forward to! :D (although, as it's apparently still in preproduction phase, not too soon)

Now bring us the adventure-game-to-movie-to-adventure-game-sequel.

The forum at Doug TenNapel's site is on fire... he posted some concept doodles he made....

( And Marek, there already was a sequel... Skullmonkeys - but it didn't look too adventurey )

Will this mean that the game'll get a re-release? They've missed a trick if it doesn't, in some form.

Just spent the last hour watching the cut-scenes from both Neverhood and Skullmonkeys on YouTube. Man, that's some awesome claymation.

I'm so psyched about this feature film!

On Doug TenNapel's forum:

When asked about getting the original team, he said:

"The only people we'd need is the art department since there's no programming involved. It would come down to the availability of the very busy Mike Dietz, Ed Schofield and Terry Taylor."

And I asked if the $20mil budget restriction would be a problem. His response:

"It's a problem, but every movie has to work around a budget problem and scale accordingly. Put it this way, we might end up with a budget as low as 4 mil...I could tell story "A" or I could tell story "B" that's 5 times bigger. I'm coming up with different plots and story lengths to make sure we can tell a good story that's appropriate for the budget range we'll be working with.

Just so you know, I have absolutley no desire to redo the Neverhood game look...that was what it needed to be for 1995. I'm putting everything on the table story-wise and saying, "What is the Neverhood about and who is Klaymen?" I've been redesigning the characters and figuring it all out again with a feature-length story in mind."

Without Terry Taylor on music, there's no Neverhood I tells ya.

That would be great.

I hope the movie comes out because there will be a good chance to have a whole line of Klaymen action figures (with accampanying play dough set)

Well, the movie is obviously going to come out.

The production company will specialise in sub $20 mil budgets though, which may be an issue. Hope it doesn't suck.

I guess I should play it now.

Yes, you should, even if you don't care about the film.
