First I want to say that I meet the requirements to play the game. In fact I have played the game up to a certain part. After I receive permission to go to the mine and leave the office, the screen goes black as it has before and Martin does his little dialog. When I hear thunder and rain then I get kicked out or an error message is given.

"There was an error in Nibiru exe."

I have tried to get tech help from The adventure company, but I haven't received any.

Any ideas?

Off the top of my head, I would go with the usual suggestions; make sure you have shut down antivirus programs and any other programs that might be running in the background, before running the game; check to make sure that you have the latest video drivers and sound drivers for your video and sound cards. Those are usually the culprits for this sort of error message. I would check those out first.

TAC also has a list of suggestions on their website under support>>Nibiru>> game crashes/freezes.

Thanks for responding.

I'm not disputing what you suggested and I will do those things, but I have some questions. How would not having an updated driver stop game play in one certain point every time when up to that point things worked fine? Wouldn't it stop the game from the beginning? I'm just curious.

Thanks again

That's a good question, and I'm far from a technical expert. But these kinds of errors have been known to occur during the course of a game rather than from the outset, due to the stuff I mentioned above. You would certainly think you would have that problem right from the beginning, but that isn't always the case.

Thanks for your help Marian. It worked, I still find it odd, but it worked.

That's great, and thanks for letting me know; I'm glad you will be able to continue the game.

My very amateur explanation as to why this problem wouldn't necessarily happen right from the starting gate is because your drivers were probably mostly compatible with the game and were managing as is, but then at some point the game made some sort of "call" that was incompatible with what you had, causing the .exe message and the game to shut down. I've seen this happen to people before when they had made substantial progress in a game. Additionally, sometimes background programs, particularly virus scans running, can mess up the works along the way.

Enjoy the game. :)
