View Full Version : Adventure Gamers Hiatus: What Did You Play?
While Adventure Gamers (http://www.adventuregamers.com) was down for a good two months or so what Adventure Games did you play or replay? (If anything)
I replayed The Longest Journey, Grim Fandango, Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror, The Watchmaker, and Broken Sword: The Shadow Of The Templars :). All of these games were just as good as they were when I played these games before and it was good to replay the first two Broken Sword games in anticipation for the third game in the trilogy. (Infact, I liked Broken Sword: The Shadow Of The Templars a lot more then the first time I completed it.:))
The only adventure game I've played in a long time was Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.
I remember, with my first copy, I had only played till the hot air balloon ride before I lost my CD. Well, around April, I bought it again and played it and man, was it awesome! :D

Because of grief I turned to adventure celibate.
I played mostly Diablo I over battle.net during this sad summer time.
BUT NOW I RETURN! - full of adventuresome élan vital.
I've just recently refused to play EfMI to the end :r
Today I fihisned freeware full-talkie (finally!) version of BaSS - my beloved first one :P
I'm strongly and ferociously anticipating and preparing my mind for BS3-TSD :9~
Cursing delay of Syberia II :frusty: - that's unfair Microids!
Still dreaming of how great s&m2 and tlj2 will be (gimme more screenshots/trailers/artworks!).
Preparing to supply my collection with LucasArts archives, GK Mysteries and other classics.
Usual stuff.

I didn't really play any adventures over the summer, I was mostly all about Soldier of Fortune II deathmatches and Indy Jones and The Emperor's Tomb. However, for my birthday this past month I bought myself Tron 2.0 and Syberia. Started both, and stayed with Syberia (I'll get to Tron a bit later).

I completed Blade Runner for the first time, The Last Express likewise, I'm getting pretty close to the end of The Longest Journey, finally finished CMI to the end (somehow I'd never bothered beating the end), started QFG2, and started Shadow of Destiny.

Not that I was really posting here before the site went down, but I replayed CMI. That was it. I've been too busy with, uh... other things. :)

Come on, remixor, tell us how you felt when you ended your journey with April. Don't just be saying that you finished the game, for cripe's sakes! *D

I bought Runaway, but only played it for one or two days. (I couldn't really get *into* the game, dunno why) Oh well, I'll try again soon.
I also bought Elite Force 2, which I'm still playing (almost finished).

I finished Schizm: Mysterious Journey, started Blade Runner, finished Broken Sword 1 - but mostly laid back on the couch (the greatest gaming position) and divided time between: (PS2) Dark Cloud 2, Xenosaga, MS-Gundam: Journey to Jaburo, (Cube) Batman: Dark Tomorrow, and FINALLY finished Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. Great game.

New to the discussion. Nice to be here. Over the Summer I've played back through Grim Fandango (for the 4th time), Syberia (God, I hated the ending. Nice way to sell more games. I had to check a walkthrough just to make sure it really ended like that), and I just started Discworld Noir. Other than that I played a bunch of Age of Mythology and Empire Earth ('cause there is something really satisfying about nuking the enemy into oblivion.)

Well, I certainly though it was one of the most "complete" adventures I've ever played. It wasn't the absolute best, but it was pretty damn good. I was really pleased with the characters, basically above all else. I wasn't absolutely crazy about the plot itself, but the characters were incredibly well-developed and very well-written. I actually felt for them, which is definitely not something I can say for all adventure characters. I even felt disappointed when April didn't become the 13th Guardian, even though I'd been hoping she wouldn't the entire game. :) All in all, a great experience.

I replayed BS1, and then I picked up Arcanum from Target for $7, and halfway through that I picked up GTA: Vice City and that dominated the rest of the summer.
I bought Runaway, but only played it for one or two days. (I couldn't really get *into* the game, dunno why) Oh well, I'll try again soon.
I also bought Elite Force 2, which I'm still playing (almost finished).
--ErwinI completed Elite Force 2 around the same time I started replaying The Longest Journey. What do you think of think of it? The occassional adventure like dialouge tree is pretty cool. :) The entire game is pretty much kickass! :) .
I started to play Runaway. After trying to figure out why the cut-scenes where playing upside-down and mirrored, and wondering why on earth the sounds was crackeling. However, I actually never got out of the hospital room, other stuff happened, and I haven't played anything since. *sigh* Will eventually, I guess!

Same here - I don't really know why, but the game is somehow not interesting. It feels like you've done this a thousand times before.
Well I hope that I will continue Runaway soon.
Other than that I have played, and made a fool of myself in Resident Evil: Code Veronica X. I managed to save the game at a spot where I have virtually no life left and a huge monster attacks me right after loading
I have also played Ico wich I loved!
I have bought and traded lots and lots of great games, but that is a different question :)
