an on-line adventure gamer/friend of mine wants to trade my copy of relms of the haunting, for his darkseed 1 and 2. i've herd of these 2 games but never have seen anything on them, i looked them up in google and yahoo and found nothing, could someone give me a little insite about these games. thanx

I've never played them myself, but I remember that the environments for the Darkseed games were based on the artwork of H.R. Giger. I would imagine that the stories were spooky, supernatural horror of some kind.

It was great when it came out (at least the Amiga version). Nowadays... Well, the atmosphere is still good.

I have both Darkseed games, they are very good adventure games.

I like Giger's art, and these games feature lot of his stuff.

cool, i've been a fan of giger arts work for a few years now, he's a great artist. you guys should schould check some of it out

I have a copy of the first Darkseed game. Never beat it. I remember having trouble running it.

That's a good trade. I recently picked up a boxed copy of ROTH for 3.00. Whereas Darkseed 1 and 2 are much harder to find. It can be a challenge getting them to run on newer systems - but they are decent games to play and the art work and plot paths are fairly unique.

I've been looking for it for ages.. Playing it when I was younger, forgot what it was called. Highly recommended, very well made - I was surprised it hasn't been mentioned more frequently...

Great artwork by Giger, but gameplay in both games is quite poor. Then again, great atmosphere.

The atmosphere is good, but Darkseed 1 is one of the most frustrating adventures ever. There are lots of dead-ends, so you better save often. And if that is not all, the game has limited save slots IIRC.:eek:

Every once in a while, the game will require that you predict the future. So if you forgot to do some obscure action before, you will get stuck some hours later.:sad:

Also, the game is timed, some events will occur only at a certain hour, so if you missed it, you are stuck.:rolleyes:

If you want to play a verfy difficult game, this is the one you have been looking for.:)
