Hi all,

For many months now, I've been toying around with the idea of creating a unique fan adventure game. I don't mean a sequal or a prequal, or remake (although the ones I have seen have been really very good!). I want to create a new World, with new characters, new dialogue, new everything. The problem is, my graphical prowess is extremely limited, as are my programming skills with the various engines available. I do, however have a plethora of potential ideas that I've considered commiting to paper several times, be it for a fictional novel, a short story etc. I am also eager and willing to learn how to get to grips with the various engines.

So, I am extending an open invitation to as many people that are interested as possible, to join me in making something unique, and something special. I've been eager to do a project like this ever since I played adventure games back in 1988!

This is something I'm incredibly passionate about, and I really want to see through to the end. If anybody wants to join me and my comrade in arms, Craig Palmer, please email me at rayfnwillmott@yahoo.com. I'm particulary looking for artists, designers, programmers, basically anyone who feels as passionate as me about bringing out something unique on the underground scene and feels they have something to contribute.

Thanks for your time, and I hope to hear from you soon.

Take Care

Ray

Hiya guys,

I just wanted to update you on the progress our game has made so far. We are presently a team of three, Ray Willmott (me that is), Craig Palmer and Chris Birnie. Craig and myself are currently trying to fight our way through the language and facilities of AGS, so we can do some programming and Chris is the games artist (and very good he is too, ;) ). However, we're still looking for people to join our team, to assist us in anyway they can, so if anybody is interested, please contact us, as we're hoping to begin game production very soon.

As for the game's development itself, we have discussed various ideas between ourselves, and have settled on a cyberpunk/horror theme for the game. Presently, the game will be set on Mars, since everyone has left earth, as it was destroyed by a meteoric collision, and it will be based a few years into the future. However, the planet of Mars has only recently been colonized and as such, people are unsure as of what to expect now that they're living there. In addition, there have been a lot of killings occuring on the planet, which have left people in shock and disbelief.

In the game you will play as a detective, that is trying to discover why these killings are occuring, and whether or not the planet was as isolated as was first thought by the original colonists. We've already come up with a lot of twists and turns for the plot, along with some spine chilling tracks, and we've even conjured up a unique dialogue interface never seen before in ANY adventure game, which we will attempt to implement.

Chris has already made an early drawing for the game, which can be seen here - http://www.angelfire.com/sk3/b52/planet.jpg

We're hoping to use AGS for the game, and we're also hoping to produce a demo soon, which will serve as a prologue to the actual game, as opposed to what will feature IN the game.

My contact details are in the message above if you'd like anymore details or are interested in aiding us with the games creation.

We'll be keeping you posted on the games progression.

Thanks for your time

Ray
