For those of you who are still struggeling with a stut-stutt-stuttering... mouse or that the sound keeps falling out. I found some alternative solutions to those that have been originally suggested by the readme file to fix these bugs.

In the readme file it says that:

If the company logos or intro video stutter on playblack, you can set a flag in the compat.ini file to fix this problem, The compat.ini file can be found in the installed game folder, within the system subfolder. Open the file up in notepad and change the m_bDisableFrameBuffering value from =0 to =1. Save the file, and run the game again as normal.

But there are also other options in this file. If you are still having problems with the sound stuttering or falling out, you can try changing the m_bDSoundLocDeferOn and/or m_bDSoundLocForceSoftwareOn options.

If you have problems with the graphics running slowly(jumpy mouse or moving turning into snailaction in the steamroom) you can try enabeling m_uiDisableParticles. That fixed all the problems I had with a jumpy mouse, even though it removes some graphical features like the steam in the steamroom. But that's a little price to pay for having a game that now works good enough to be played for hours. I also had to enable the m_bDisableFrameBuffering to remove some problems with the camera not being able to keep up to speed with me in the game, even though my videos ran fine.

I've also noticed another file called custom.ini which seems to have some options which also could improve performance. I haven't been able to find out much what the different options does, though, so I just let it be until some willing soul sits down and tries to explain it.

Like always. Take a backup of important ini files like these one before you tamper with it, just in case you do something that you can't figure out how to undo.
