Well, I'm fairly new to Adventure gaming, inact I'm fairly new to gaming in all genres.... except for the odd game of Heroes of Might and Magic... And the old dos based games I played in the eatly 90'ies ;)
But lately I've started enjoying a bit of gaming time...
So far I've played through
Keepsake
The Longest Journey
Dreamfall
Syberia 1 + 2
Enjoyed them all....
But now I don't know where to go next...
So please all of joy give me some input as to where to find my next gaming experience.... :D

From the older games I love Grim Fandango. And from the newer ones Still Life is one of my favourites. Return To Mysterious Island was also a great game.
And then there's the whole Myst series.

Ok thank you so far...
Perhaps you could all just emphasise and explain a bit about why you suggest the things you do... :)

Definitely play Grim Fandango
also...
Monkey island 3
Sanitarium
Still Life
Moment of Silence
Broken Sword series
Simon the sorcerer 1 & 2
Discworld Noir
Most of these (if not all) are classics... if you enjoyed the ones you already played, chances are you will enjoy these too.

That was just what i wanted to ask. I played almost every adventure game in 90's. Now i want to play some more. I played all Lucas games, etc etc....
I don't like games with creatures, 'cause it's not realistic. Like cartoon games like Lucas arts :). Can you tell me few of your best picks (in last 3 years) ?
Thanks

Try the Dark Fall games, and Barrow Hill. All are atmospheric, suspenseful adventures.

OK :)
Grim Fandango has great Art Deco environments and game characters that are easy to love. The story is surreal and fantastic. It's a gaming expereice you'll never forget!
Still Life has an exciting story that takes place both in modern time Chicago and in Prage in the late 20s. The gritty graphics and the interesting puzzles (please don't start a debate about cookie- or lockpick puzzles now) made me it for me!
Return to Mysterious Island is really inventory puzzle heavy. The story is a lot about surviving on an island and you have to be creative with the tools you find. There are plenty of different ways to play the game as far as I understand. I'd really like to replay it soon to get a higher score.

I recommend Still Life and Secrets of DaVinci: The Forbidden Manuscript.
They are both fairly easy to come by and they both have some substance.

hmm...Merovia
Im almost like you, quite new in genre...But Im up to play first legendary games, from 90's. Because never know how is their avalability in nect 5 years. So I started like Broken Sword, and Monkey Island. They are obivously legendary series. Can't forget Myst, but it's kinda different game...deeper i think. Still worth a try. There is Gabriel Knight Series from Sierra. And Indiana Jones from Lucasarts.
Newer games like Nibiru, Still Life...
If you like mysteries/crime thingy then Agatha Christie And There Were None is up to play+ new game coming in serie: Agatha Christie:murder on Orient Express.
But..yeah... You should start with legendary games, then after that think about playing newer ones. :)

These legendary games you all talk about are they easy to come by??? On-line???
Since I live in Denmark where in most game stores you can only get the newest top tens...
Longest journey and Syberia I had to buy used...
Actually my gaming started with me watching and being fascinated with the Keeepsake demo (remember my last gaming experience except for the brief Heroes spell) where CIV and Prince og persia and smaller games 12-14 years earlier ;)
Searching for more info on Keepsake let me to this site where TLJ and Syberia where the most mentioned games.... and of course having played TLJ i had to play Dreamfall...
But my path ended there... which made me ask you all for in-put....
Thank you, and keep 'em coming ;) Some interesting suggestions so far...

I buy most games on-line. From Amazon UK or the Swedish on-line store Webhallen (www.webhallen.com) But Grim Fandango I found in a sales box at our local EB games. You can also check out e-bay or similar Danish sites.
