This thread is to talk about game compilations (games from another plataform) and collections...
If you are missing a title of a series, sometimes its cheaper to get the collection, specially if its an old one (Zork).
This a place to talk about your favourites, your least favourites and just collections you think are noteworthy...
To strart I will talk about the best PC adventure collection:
-Roberta Williams Anthology! :D
It has the Laura Bow games, King's Quest I-VII, even the old Apple II games she made...
Here are someother noteworthy game collections:
-Activision Anthology: With this baby you won't need your old Atari anymore! Its load of zany extras like music from the 80's, the commercials, and DISCO MODE! :D
-Masterpieces of Infocom: Has nearly every Infocom IF game ever made...
-Gabriel Knight Mysteries: Has Gabriel Knight I and II and the book of the 1st game, oh and the soundtrack of the games
-Leisure Suit Larry Collector's Edition: How could I forget this one! Has Larry I-VI (not Larry IV of course), there is also the Ultimate Pleasure Pack that has all the previous games and Larry's Casino and Larry 7.
There are millions more but hey I'm hogging the thread! :P
I will post more if anybody are interested in knowing about them...
You never know if that game you are missing is in a collection, and its always easier to find a 5 year collection that a 10 year old game! :D

I'm currently hunting for aforementioned Gabriel Knight Mysteries that includes all three of games working under windows, bonus soundtrack CD, "Sins of the Fathers" novel and a comic book intro to GK3 :9~

I'm also after LucasArts Archives vol1. (Day of the Tentacle, Sam&Max and IJ: Fate of Atlantis) :9~

I don't know why there isn't but I think releasing Monkey Island box (maybe they are waiting for the MI5: "End of Monkey Island") or even better The Disworld Trilogy is an excellent idea.

Releasing Broken Sword Trilogy - once the third installment is on - (maybe as a limited box) would also be nice Revolution ;)

Actually, it just includes the first two games. GK3 wasn't finished yet at the time the box set was released. It's still worth getting though, especially for the soundtrack.

I agree Discworld Trilogy would rule, but there already IS a Monkey Island collection. It's called Monkey Island Collector's Edition or something and it has all four games. I believe there's also a Booty Pack or something with games 1-3, and I THINK there's a Monkey Madness with 1 and 2.

I really, really hope they do this, but I'm not holding my breath. I suppose it depends on how well BS3 sells.

Sorry, you are right of course. My mistake - it just happens that I have a chance to buy GK mysteries with a bonus GK3 added. This misled me a little.

Well there is a pack with GK 3 in it, it also had KQ8 and Feeble Files...
:D
This is doing well, I'll mention some more collections while I'm here:
-Throphy Case II: It has Companions Of Xanth, Death Gate and Shannara, man this title is worth it, but I have no idea what Trophy Case I had...
-The Magnetic Scrolls Collection Vol.1: Pfish, Corruption and Guild of Thieves
-Castlevania & Contra: Play Castlevania I-III and Contra on your PC!
-Sega Smash Pack I and II for PC: Now I don't need a Mega Drive/Genesis!
-Dragon's Lair Trilogy: All Don Bluth games in one pack!

i'm pretty sure this one was just mac. i looked at it for a really long time! it had a sticker on it with mac system requirements, nothing about the PC. (are we talking about the same collection? this one was on 3.5 inch floppies and had like 50 text games...)

in any case, i went back the next week to buy it thinking i could surely give it to someone with a mac, and it was gone. so someone out there must be really happy!

-Ah, that explains it, mine is a CD-Rom, but 50 is a bit high, mine barely has 40 and its only missing Shogun and Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy....
Maybe its was Lost Treasrues instead of Masterpieces of Infocom...
Sadly, the page (http://www.lacegem.com/default.html) were I bought mine is out of stock...
You might find it here (http://www.if-legends.org/~yois/) !

I happen to own both the Gabriel Knight Mysteries collection and the LucasArts Archive Vol. 1. Unfortunately, I lost the box to GK mysteries (Which was really cool), and lent Sam 'n Max out to a friend and never got it back. Still great collections, though. The soundtrack from GK Mysteries really is nifty.

All four in a box really sounds cool. And Monkey Madness I do own - I bought it along with Full Throttle and The Dig for 30PLN (8 bucks only) :D

I really, really hope they do this, but I'm not holding my breath. I suppose it depends on how well BS3 sells.

So we will just have to wait :7

Considering how hard it is to find classics in Poland - you can't even imagine (there are no LucasArts archives, no GK mysteries, no nothing - officialy of course) - I'm especially proud of my little collection. Some collector's items are worth a fortune here and I bought them at a lower-than-bargain prices.

there is also the Ultimate Pleasure Pack that has all the previous games and Larry's Casino and Larry 7.

I also own Larry's Ultimate Pleasure Pack. I think of all the compilation packs I have this would be the rarest. I just love the boxart of this one, btw.

I also have a pretty rare LucasArts compilation called '10 Adventures, Lucas Arts classics'. It contains MI1, MI2, Zak McKracken, Loom, Indy LC, Indy FOA, Sam and Max, DOTT, Maniac Mansion and Indy & his desktop adventures.

I almost bought the latest MI compilation pack (which also includes EMI) but I thought that'd be a bit too crazy, considering I already own three copies of MI1 and MI2. But hey, the box is soooo beautiful...

It's MONKEY ISLAND COLLECTORS EDITION. (spelled as it is)
It was only published in Australia.
It's a biiiiiig empty box. Meaning it has the CD-ROM's in paper sleeves and the very short EMI manual in CD-insert format. The rest is cardboard. All other manuals are on the CD's.
The box visual looks good on a shelf, but that's all there is to it.
However, if you don't have any of those games, there's no hesitation. You can easily find it on Ebay from Kangarooland sellers.
On the other hand, I think the best ensemble is:
A) Curse of Monkey Island Archive Edition which includes Monkey Island Madness (1&2)
B) Escape from Monkey Island Signature Edition
Yes, the CD-ROM version of Masterpieces of Infocom works on both PC and Mac, and has every game but Shogun and Galaxy.
I personally love the LucasArts Archives despite the fact that you spill every CD on the floor every time you open the box.
And you gotta love the Total Revolution package that includes Lure of the temptress, Beneath a steel sky, Broken Sword and Broken Sword 2. Of course, now the first two are available for free, so the box is for completists only.
AND MY FAVOURITE is the LucasArts Classic Adventures Collection. It has Maniac Mansion, Zak McKracken, Indy and the last crusade, Secret on Monkey Island and Loom on ORIGINAL 3.5 DISKS! It was published only two years ago, so kudos to them for daring to re-issue floppy versions. For those who'd like to have Zak and Indy which are both sorely missing from Lucas packages, it's a treat.
In order to have every Lucas adventure game, you need:
1) Classic Adventures Collection (as described right above)
2) Archives Adventure collection (recently published) which has IndyAndTheFateOfAtlantis, DayOfTheTentacle and Sam&Max
3) Archives III which has Full Throttle, The Dig, MIMadness, Yoda Stories and Indy Desktop
You'll have to get Grim Fandango, CMI and EMI separately, and if you really have to be complete, you'll need to find the CD version of Loom with voices instead of text and remastered music.
I'll also have to mention the Delphine Software Adventure Collection which I owned some years ago, and sold, and tracked again desperately until I recently found it on a French auction site. It has every Delphine game from Future Wars to Flashback on a single CD, including Operation Stealth (US version: James Bond, the Stealth Affair), Cruise for a Corpse and the magnificent Another World. Wars, Stealth and Cruise are simply fabulous adventure games.

Maybe I should have put this in the adventure section? :P
Well I'll talk about some NON adventure collections, ok?
-Namco Musuem VOl I-V: There is more to Namco than Pacman...
-Capcom Generations I-V: Has Ghost N Goblins, 1492, the classic Capcom arcade games!
-Konami Collection 1-4: Old GB game in pack and in color!
-Blizzard Pack: Starcraft, Warcraft II and Diablo

No, but you can generally find used copies on Ebay and Amazon if you don't mind paying more than they originally sold for.

there are two different PQ collections -- one comes with SWAT, one doesn't.

i actually have an extra copy of the one that doesn't come with SWAT that i'm willing to sell. it's just the CD in jewel case, no box or manual. (the CD looks flawless... i don't think it's ever been used.) email me if you're interested.

I have a compilation with both Broken Sword games together with Lure of the Temptress and Beneath a Steal Sky called Total Revolution. Great games, but the packaging is pretty lame, with nothing but four CD:s in plastic sleeves in the box. No hard copy stuff whatsoever. Manuals on the CD:s. But for under ten USD new I guess it was not that bad a deal, at least not before Revolution started giving their oldies away for free...

I just picked up a copy of LucasArts Classic Adventures. It's got Monkey Island, Last Crusade, Loom, Zak McKracken, and Maniac Mansion. Of those I've only beat Monkey Island, and I'd never played Zak or Last Crusade at all, so it was definitely a good find for me. I'm really liking Loom so far, and Zak seems fun. I'm not as into Last Crusade, but I'm hoping it'll get better.

I just put some more auctions online of:
-The Roberta Williams Anthology (ebay: 3052017100)
-Sierra PC Gamer Editors' Choice Collection
-Sierra Adventure Pack (Collection Series)
-Sierra Family Fun Pack (Collection Series)

all boxed, mint condition, original copies. Check it out if you're interested.

The Roberta Williams Anthology [RWA] (and King's Quest 1-7 Collection) usually make about $100 on Ebay. I'm surprised so many people bid that much for just the KQ Collection, as they can get a lot more games for the RWA. Anyway, I'm selling the RWA for $75 outside ebay.

And I'm planning to put ORION BURGER, I Have No Mouth and I must Scream, and some other games on Ebay soon too.

Did anyone recently see a boxed Orion Burger on Ebay? For how much was it sold?
