I've received some questions as to why there hasn't been an Underground Dispatch for a couple months, and I'm ready with an answer now: we are getting ready to introduce a dynamic news system to Underground, not unlike the one we have on the main site. This will allow us to post important news as it is reported, rather than gathering it once a month.
We are getting into a position where we expect to post one Underground article every week. Most of these will not be shown in the main feature pic area, but will instead be featured in the Underground portion of the main page. So make sure you scroll down a bit and always check to see the newest Underground articles.
For those who aren't aware, Berian Williams aka AGA has joined our staff and is beginning to build our Underground database with game information and capsule reviews. Take some time to browse the database (it's still fairly small)--you can do by searching from the main UG page (http://www.adventuregamers.com/underground/) and if your favorite (or least favorite) game isn't there, please feel free to request it via this thread, or via e-mail at underground@adventuregamers.com. Also let us know if any database information is not there. We're going to try to add 5-10 games a week, and will put highest priority on whatever games are specifically requested by our wonderful audience.
We also are preparing to hand out our 2003 Adventure Gamers Underground awards. Awards will be given for Best Game, Best Graphics, Best Sound/Music, Best Story, and Best Writing. The decisions on nominations and winners will be made by Dave, AGA, and me, though we would love any and all feedback. All amateur games released in 2003 on any engine are eligible. We will be announcing nominees this month.
I know things have moved a bit slower than a snail's pace. But I promise you, we have a lot of cool things planned for Underground, and we are dedicated to making Underground the place for amateur adventure coverage.
Thanks for reading, and happy adventuring!
